Letter To Qazi Faez Isa, Chief Justice of Pakistan | Justice Markandey Katj

Dear Mr. Isa (I refrain from using the title ‘Justice’ as I believe you do not merit this designation),

I am compelled to express some harsh truths to you. In my view, you are a discredit to judiciaries worldwide, having blatantly forsaken your solemn vow to uphold Pakistan’s Constitution and safeguard the liberties and rights of its people. (Reference)

You identify yourself as Justice Qazi Faez Isa, yet I suggest you relinquish this title in favor of ‘Justice Dramabaz’ for the following reasons:

  1. Inadequacy as a Qazi: Contrary to the exemplar Qazi Sirajuddin of Bengal, your actions do not align with the true qualities of a Qazi. In Charles Stewart’s ‘History of Bengal’, a case before Qazi Sirajuddin in 1490 epitomizes genuine justice. Faced with a moral dilemma involving the Sultan, the Qazi prioritized divine justice over royal wrath. (Reference 1, Reference 2)
  2. Your apparent fear of displeasing Pakistani generals, in contrast to Sirajuddin’s reverence for divine judgment, underscores your deviation from the Qazi ideal.
  3. Misnomer ‘Faez’: The name ‘Faez’, meaning favor or grace, seems ill-fitting for someone who, in my opinion, is more a bane than a boon to Pakistan. Your focus on insignificant cases, while neglecting urgent matters like the bail pleas of thousands incarcerated after the events of 9th May, betrays a lack of judicial grace. Furthermore, your perceived allegiance to the Establishment and figures like Nawaz Sharif, as opposed to the popular choice of Imran Khan, further distances you from the essence of ‘Faez’. (Reference)
  4. Disparity with ‘Isa’: The name ‘Isa’ (Jesus), synonymous with sacrifice for others, stands in stark contrast to your perceived self-preservation and compliance with the Establishment. Your reported demeanor in court lacks the dignity, serenity, and tranquility expected of a judge. (Reference)
  5. Your rejection of protocol and official amenities, while seemingly dramatic, casts you more as a ‘dramabaz’ than a justice. (References: Tribune, Business Recorder, YouTube, Daily Parliament Times)
Thus, I address you as Justice Dramabaz and urge fellow Pakistanis to adopt this moniker.

Sincerely,

Justice Markandey Katju

I had asked Moeed Pirzada to interview Markandey Katju and seek his opinion on the current judiciary situation in Pakistan but looks like he's too busy in his different projects.
I would suggest Sohrab or Jamal from Siasat.Pk to interview him.
Bhai non stop aiesi bhigo bhigo kay maarta hai keh MAJAA aa jata hai.

Let's see now how this narcissist Kazi reacts to this letter of Mr Katju??

I doubt Qazi Isa will read it, and if read then this man doesn't have an IQ to understand what a fellow jurist is saying.

I read the letter now.... Wow! what a hard hitting letter.
He has literally torn Kazi apart. Lanat iss Kazi per.

People of Pakistan should make copies of this letter and send it all the judges of the higher judiciary, GHQ, Bureaucracy and every Who's Who in the country.
