Drawback:
Its expensive only for the first time, but in long run it will give the following benefits.
Benefits:
-Once a biometric machine is installed it can be used for 25 years, which means that it will be used for 5 general and many many local body elections.
-Moreover it will also give you polling results within hours.
-And it will also save billions in every election by producing only the number of ballot papers required because it will generate a ballot paper after you put a thumb on the machine meaning that you won't have to guess how many ballot papers you would be needing.
-It will also save billions of rupees needed for re-verification of votes(such as the 10 rupees/vote cost announced by ECP to verify votes).

yeh nizam koi itna khas nhi laga, Ju Video me ne dekhi tu me tu bus NIC se Banday ki tasdeeq ki gie aur Phir Ballot Paper ka hi istamal hua, Well Yeh sub TABS , ju k almost 50 hazar Hogie, Bad me student ko de daini chayie, mujhe tu Machine dekh yehi laga k, TAB me Software install kia gaya hai aur Nechy Tumb reader Aur card reader ki aik machine laga kam chalaya gaya hai... Jitna Secure nizam soucha tha dekhne me iutna laga nhi

Brothers i doubt the old and feudal politicians will accept this system.
dammit what the hell is this crap!!?? This is not the machine that Tariq Malik showed in the demonstration a few weeks ago!! Why are the voters still using the fricking paper votes!! Where is that panel where people would press a button to cast a vote!! Papers votes can still be torn or thrown away or added they way it is usually done... A big no to this!! paper votes should be eliminated... another drawback is that the counting will be done manually, which means that any time the result can be stopped on will and result can be changed!!

KPK LG polls: PTI govt holds trial voting under biometric system...
PTI chief Imran Khan said he would ensure transparency in upcoming LG polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.PESHAWAR (NNI) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is conducting a trial voting under new biometric system in an effort to hold free and fair local government elections across the province.
The demo polling is arranged in a neighborhood and village council of Peshawar.
According to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa election commission, the polling is being held at village council Badhai, ward Wadpagga and neighborhood council Sir Buland Pura in Peshawar.
The thumb impression and national identity card of voters will be verified through biometric machine after which they would be sent in polling booth to cast their vote.
The polling that started at 8AM will continue till 5PM today.
The chief election commissioner of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk will also visit the polling stations.
It is also learnt that NADRA officials were also monitoring the biometric system along with the election commission officials.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan said he would ensure transparency in upcoming local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This type of machine can only verify how many votes were cast. What if the casted votes were changed afterwards. i do not like this type of system. Anyway something is better than nothing . My request to KPK government to make the system fool proof . The bio metric machine should also print the ballot paper after reading the ID card and afterwards the voter should put his thumb impression on the selected symbol of his Party of choice.
