جرمنی کی حکومت کی جانب سے قانون سازی کے بعد یکم نومبر کو ایک قانون نافذ کیا جائے گا جس کے تحت والدین اپنے تیسری جنس کے بچوں کی جنس سے متعلق پیدائشی سرٹیفکیٹ پر جنس کا خانہ خالی چھوڑ سکتے ہیں یا بعد میں اسے کوئی بھی جنس اپنی مرضی کے مطابق منتخب کرکے لکھ سکتے ہیں۔ جرمن حکومت کی جانب سے یہ فیصلہ والدین کی جانب سے نومولود بچوں کی جنس تبدیل کرانے کےلئے مختلف سرجریز کے دباؤ اور 2012 میں ایتھک کونسل کی جانب سے تیسری جنس کو معاشرے میں درپیش مسائل پر رپورٹ کے بعد کیا گیا ہے جس پر گزشتہ سال سے کام جاری ہے۔

جرمنی کے وزارت داخلہ کے ترجمان کے مطابق یکم نومبر کو قانون کے نفاذ کے بعد جرمن پاسپورٹ میں بھی تبدیلی کی جائے گی جس میں مرد اور خاتون کے علاوہایکس نامی جنسی شناخت بھی لکھی جاسکے گی جسے قانونی حیثیت حاصل ہوگی۔
