ECC opposes ban on export of tomatoes, onions : Despite Highest Ever Prices in Local Markets

Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet did not impose any ban on the export of onions and tomatoes, as it was expected to control their soaring prices, and asserted the rates would soon decrease as fresh stocks of these vegetables reached the markets.


The ECC meeting, held under the chairmanship of Federal Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dollar, expressed concern over the inflation and price hike in the country and observed it was mainly due to increase in international fuel prices.

Normally in the under developled countries it is the concerned businessmen who gets higher posts at their concerened Government Commity, so that they can make laws in their own favor. I think this is what happening in this scenario as well. The People on higher posts of such commity may themselves be getting profit from exporting such things so they don't ban it. This phenomenon happens almost in every department.

We can see the example of parliament where majority of parliamentarians are either businessmen, or industrialists, so they also passes laws which favors businessmen and industialists.

I am unable to understand that:: to where the Pakistani farmers export tomatoes and onions at this extreme price?? who else is idiot enough to buy at this unrealistic price??
Prices of (Tomatoes, Onions, Flour, Vegetable Oil) in Germany are lower than those in Pakistan.

Big businessmen hoard tomatoes, onion etc and sold to INDIA etc . farmer dont get even 10% of selling price. And guess who is sitting in ECC
