Karachi Sep 25: On the directive of City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal, City Government will not consider Daewoo Buses for next CNG Bus Project for Karachi.This was decided during a meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal. Earlier during the meeting EDO Transport Iftikhar Ahmed Qaimkhani informed that the experts have pinpointed various technical faults in 25 Daewoo CNG Buses procured by City Government in July this year. He said that due to defective performance these buses were not fulfilling the required standard.
Taking strict notice of this information, City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal directed transport department to rectify all technical faults in these buses without delay. He also instructed not to accept any further offer for supply of Daewoo Buses without the assurance of rectification of all technical defects and satisfactory performance of CNG buses.
