Why Chinese pharma company SINOPHARM has not conducted these preliminary Phase I and Phase II clinical trials on their patients in China? Why we are allowing this company to make Pakistani patients guinea pigs? In foreign countries where ever such type of trials are conducted, each subject is paid 1000 USD per day and a lump sum amount not less than a million USD to the Principal Investigator of the trial. Here, Masha'Allah, major general Amir of NIH will be the Principal Investigator, and poor patients will be on risk for nothing.
technically what you said is correct,
BUT you have to agree its unlikely Pakistan will be able to come up with its own vaccine, if at all not that quick, hence something already made is better than nothing- also the fact that Pakistan will get it much much cheaper if the results are ok, otherwise they will be very expansive. the only thing that bothers me is , there hasn't been much evidence that the patients developed immunity post recovery. if thats the case then how will the vaccines induce an immune response and work.

Well patients are only paid for traveling and time; it’s a voluntary participation and it’s unethical to coax patients by offering them money.
also PI are only paid a portion of what a Pharma company spent in opening a Clinical Trial site. Most of the money goes to the institutions.

I checked their website and highly doubt that they could come up with a vaccine. The government shouldn’t slow it to conduct trials in poor patients without verifying safety and efficacy of this vaccine

Do you know any thing about Phase I and Phase II Clinical Trials? For a single drug or vaccine pharmaceutical companies spend millions of USD to complete these two trials. Better go this site and educate yourself. Not anywhere in the world humans or patients are voluntarily subjected to trials. Besides type "the cost of of patients for clinical trial" on google you will find how much a patient gets.

The recovery rate in Pakistan is 21% and death rate is 2%, which shows majority of our patients recover due to their strong immune system. Here, the question arises how this vaccine can definitely be assessed that this vaccine has actually boosted the immunity of the recovering patient, who might already have strong immune system? Will they first test each patient, subjected to trial, for his/her self immunity?

My concern is that why this company has not conducted these trials in China? Why they have chosen Pakistan? If we remember in 2006 or 2007 our patients were made guinea pigs for Stem Cells trial in OMI clinic in Karachi, while rest of the world, so much so India, refused.

How come slandering will help you in any way?? I’m a physician and working in Pharma industry for last several years leading early and late phase studies in Oncology. I corrected last person who said that why Clinical Trials are not done in lab..

Who told you that humans are involuntarily enrolled in clinical trials? It’s always a voluntary participation and they can withdraw consent at anytime without specifying any reason...

Who said that Pharma pays $35,000-40,000 per patient to participate??? That’s the average cost paid to enroll a subject - it’s only a fraction of the money paid to the patient for his time, traveling and participation. Of course his medical care is free including all tests, scans, medications etc. so this average number includes all of this cost.

It’s a wrong concept.. you give vaccine consisting of dead or live attenuated virus so your body can make antibodies against a specific strain - so it’s preventive. There’s no concept of strong immune system. If you don’t have an antibody against a pathogen, you’ll get infected upon exposure, doesn’t matter how effective your immune system is against every other bug out there..
problem with this virus is how body responds upon exposure, unfortunately with COVID-19, it causes severe inflammation of your lungs and further leading to heart and kidney failure. Also meds are seeing unusually high clots formation in infected patients causing all kinds of complications unfortunately
