دلچسپ: جس ٹویٹر کو ملکی سلامتی کے لیے خطرہ قرار دیتے ہوئے اُس پر پابندی لگائی گئی تھی، پھر ملکی دفاع کے لیے بیانیہ بنانے کے لیے اُسی ٹویٹر پر سے پابندی ہٹائی گئی، اور پابندی ہٹانے کا فیصلہ بڑا مؤثر ثابت ہوا۔

Because of the term “national security” in Pakistan, especially when used by the establishment, it has got absolutely nothing to do with actual security of our nation. It’s a tool of convenience, used primarily to protect power n' their vested interests, not people.

Explanation:

When PTI used Twitter to expose torture, censorship, and state repression:​

• Twitter/X was called "anti-state"
• Users highlighting human rights abuses were labelled "digital terrorists"
• Whole platforms were banned
• VPN's criminalized
• Journalists and activists got FIR's
• PTI workers (even mere supporters) got abducted from their homes for mere tweets/posts

Why? Because the truth threatened their narrative.

When India attacked:​

• Suddenly, Twitter/X was unbanned overnight
• Those same users were now glorified as "digital warriors"
• Hashtags like #PakistanZindabad started trending, on the same platform they called a “security threat”
• Army-backed accounts started asking youth to “unite online”

So what changed? Not Twitter/X. Not national security. Just the direction of narrative. In simple terms, when Twitter/X empowers the people → threat. When Twitter/X can be used for state propaganda → tool. This isn’t national security. It’s narrative control.
Today’s "digital terrorist" is tomorrow’s "patriotic voice", depending on who you clap for.
