انگریزی الفاظ کے اردو میں ترجمے

ok Milkyway is not a modren term, it is a Greco-Roman term to denote the Path of pagan gods when they ascended to the sky. Nova is a relatively newer term and therefore research is required, but Andromeda is Classic Greek term and there has to be some Arabic or Persian translation for it. Urdu being mix of both so it is plausible that there is a word. Blackhole, Worm Hole, Anti Matter, Event Horizon are quiet modren theories and therefore not discussed by Arab or Persian Scientists therefore we might not have any words for them.By the way such a serious topic was discussed in such a casual way on this Forum, for a moment I thought I was on the set of AFTAB IQBAL's KHABARNAK.....very SHARAAMNAAK Behaviour.

Dost Urdu ke ziyada tar alfaaz ka maakhaz (Arabic, Persian or Turkish hein) so yeh woh alfaz hein jin ke tareef sadyon pehley ho chuki hei or inke naam rakhey gaye hein.

میری ناچیز راے میں ترجمہ کسی زبان کا کیا جاتا ھے نام کا نھیں یعنی آپ کتاب کا ترجمہ کرتے وقت زبان پر طبع آزمای کریں لیکن چیزوں کا نام ویسے کا ویسے رھنے دیں۔جیسے گلیکسی کو کھکشاں لکھنے کی ضرورت نھیں اسے گیلکسی ھی لکھیں
عربی زبان کی یہ انفرادیت ھے کہ اس کے الفاظ کے اندر ھی اسکے معنی بھی پاے جاتے ھیں۔
مثلا کلاشنکوف ایک روسی نام ھے اور اسکے اندر ھرگز اسلحے کے معنی نھیں پاے جاتے۔موجد کا نام ھی اس گن کو دے دیا گیا۔اب آپ اگر اسکا ترجم کر دیں تو لوگ پریشان ھو جایئں گے۔کیونکہ انکی توقع کے بر خلاف کلاشنکوف کے معنی اسلحے کی بجاے ھو سکتا ھے کہ بھت "نرم بات" کے ھوں۔
آپ اپنی کتاب میں اسطرح نھیں لکھ سکتے کہ ایک "نرم بات" سے برسٹ مار کر دس بندے ھلاک کر دیے۔
آپ بھی چیزوں کے نام ٹرانسلیٹ کر کے کتا ب کی افادیت کو ختم مت کریں۔ویسے بھی اردو لشکری زبان ھے جسکے اندر الفاظ کو جذب کر لینے کی صلاحیت بھت زیادھ ھے۔اسلیے انگلش نام ھی لکھ دیں۔

then we cry we should not teach englinsh to our kids in the classes.... do we have the guts to produce a million word's translation in urdu.. we dont have a department that promotes urdu and translates new words.. we a duffers and looters

There is an institute for that purpose named Idara-e-taraqai Urdu. Another one Wafaqi Urdu University.
NUML University Islamabad is also working Urdu.

But I am not sure how fruitful are these institute. Rather expecting a one-one translation of the scientific terminology is not realistic.
One of my friend from Ghana liked the this Indian song too much and asked me to translate it for him in English.

Teray meray hoontoon pay meethay meethay geet mitwa.

After translation, I found that I am not able to do a justice with poetic aspiration.

To answer your question i will need to educate you about the Urdu Language.

The word URDU is derived from the same Turkish word ORDU (army) and more commonly know as the Lashker language.

As Armies came and went over millennium in the subcontinent a language developed as a common link between variety of rich cultures that lived in the subcontinent.

The magic of Urdu is, it incorporates and accepts words from other languages with ease.

That is why this became the language of the Hindu and Muslims and was commonly written in Arabic Script.

In the late 1880 it was also written in Devangari (hindi) script.

With Pakistani Independence Urdu became more personalized and distinguished itself.

So in conclusion Urdu accepts above words whole heartedly as they are, and rewrites them in its Arabic Script.

and accepts the meaning as it is defined, It does not need to translate words.

I know there is a big attempt to Translate everything into Hindi, and they come up with words like "Gus Bhatia"

Urdu is much more magical and accommodating. I hope this answers your question.
