For the first time in history, Punjab government to impose garbage tax

*ISLAMABAD - Punjab government has decided to impose garbage tax on the citizens.*

*The Punjab government does no longer want to pick up trash for free.*

The government wants to start charging people to provide them with the facility. It has asked for the advice of the waste management companies.

The fee will depend on the size of the house. It is expected to be Rs40 to Rs50 per marla.

Local bodies secretary is working on it, and a law is expected to be drafted soon. The law will then be passed in the Punjab Assembly.

Firsy provide favilities for collection of garbage and charges fees for collection instead of imposing tax. No facility but charging that would be wrong. They should privatize waste collection and then dumpng and sorting for recycling. Recycling should be priorty to make money and any material made out of the recyclng can bring cost down of some products.

Excellent decision - All developed countries also charge their citizens for picking up their trash. Very good decision.

جب سے یہ حکومت آئی ہے سیوریج کے مسائل بڑھ گئے ہیں۔ خاص طور پر جہاں پہ ن-لیگ بلدیاتی عہدوں پر ہے اب یا تو یہ ن-لیگیوں کی شرپسندی ہے یا پھر نئی حکومت آنے کے بعد فنڈز کی کمی۔ پی ٹی آئی کو ان چیزوں پہ کڑی نظر رکھنی چاہیے ورنہ پی ٹی آئی عوام میں تیزی سے غیر مقبول ہو جائے گی۔
