This is a very childish video. The whole premise of the content is based on a ridiculously narrow narration and then inferring from it misguiding claims (that Pakistanis are jahils, and Indians are gods of science). Childish video because mature people would account for the context of the situation in which this event occurred. The context includes the timing too. Those Pakistanis who saw the failure of this mission in a celebratory tone should be understood in this context. And here are the key aspects of the context:
·India wants to see Pakistan destroyed in every sense. And they can go any length for it.
·India leaves no opportunity in doing propaganda against Pakistan to make it look like shit and themselves as heroes
·The horrific way in which the current Indian government is treating the Muslims in India
Above are just some of the points. Not even the complete list. Pakistanis feel the above. Human emotions don’t work in bits and pieces. When it comes to emotions, they are interlinked. India never wants well for Muslims. This is in their DNA. That’s why you have Pakistan today. Why the biggest migration of mankind happened at the time of independence. Millions died and sacrificed because they had experienced this hatred first hand. In 2019 it is very easy to post a vlog by people pretending to be intellectuals from the comfort of their home and talk in ignorance, oversimplifying things and missing the context.
And another ignorant aspect of this video, in the heat of showing sympathy to Indian’s failed mission, is making Pakistan look so bad. While we have challenges in the field of science but if we compare us to the third world countries we are doing very good, does this mean we can’t do more? Of course, we can. But you just cannot multiply everything with zero in your blindness to support India's mission. I agree that our minister should not have reacted to this mission’s failure in this way. That was an individual act. But because of a foolish person’s act, you should not bring down and insult the whole of Pakistan and how we view science and our efforts. That’s why I call this video misguiding, childish, and lacking context.
I am a senior IT manager working in Silicon Valley for the past 20+ years. I am able to find this status because of my degree from a science and technology university in Pakistan. Because of the science teachers from my country. And I am not alone. There are hundreds and hundreds of Pakistani origin people like me who have earned their achievements and are competing with engineering talent from all over the world including Indians because of how we earned our science education from institutions in Pakistan. And we are excelling in our jobs.
I find many reasons why videos like this are made in which our own Pakistanis bash Pakistan, and praise Indians. (1) To earn more viewership because of a big chunk of Indian audience (2) for some reason, our youth easily get impressed with Indians. They probably don’t know about the amazing quality of the human resources the Pakistani soil and our institutions have produced in every field. I wish our people, especially the youth, can realize the amount of special talent Allah has gifted in the Pakistani people, something Imran Khan very often talks about. We who are fortunate enough to have worked with people from other parts of the world can easily see the intelligence of Pakistani people.
My request to people like this gentleman who made this video is to stop publishing distorted content and instead learn about your history and your people and widen your horizon to understand the context of the situation
