White people discard their parents in nursing homes - 1/5 of deaths in the US are from there

It is wrong to say they discard them to nursing homes.In the west both men and women have jobs in most house holds.It is not possible for children to look after elderly parents.I know in UK many people do act as carers for their parents esp women.Very old people suffer from many conditions eg dementia so it is extremely difficult to look after old people.Many houses are not suitable for old and infirm people.The care homes staff are trained to look after the elderly. Care homes are very expensive so people use them as the last resort.I still believe it is better not to put people in care homes if possible but many people don’t have any option.
Most old people in the US do not want to live with their kids or let family take care of them because of pride . They want to live independently even if they are 100. and if they can. If not they prefer going to a nursing home or assisted living. Also to go to a good nursing home is a financial privilege , the nursing homes are not free unless one is talking about charity places . Family member do visit and in most cases take very good care of their parents and grand parents. This cliched thinking in Pakistan is a product of our superficial understanding of other societies. Joint family system that we tout as a great thing in our society, is a compulsion of our poverty and not a grand discovery.

Be careful what you wish for? What happens to old folks in Pakistan who have no children or sons to take care of ?
This is decent solution to taking care of old folks when they need medical interventions on a daily basis.

I'm not sure how much % but it is significant because in addition to pension these people have been making mortgage payments for decades on their properties that are now worth over $1m, they do not need those houses any more so they use the equity from their homes to live in these retirement homes.

american nursing homes are far far better than pakistani five star hospitals . even their hospitals for homeless are better than good pakistani hospitals .

Must be confusing with Assisted Living Facilities.
Some of them are like 5-star hotels, but the amount they charge for them is way more than our 5-star hotels!!!
