The much-needed food supplies meant for hundreds of thousands of flood victims, living in total inhuman conditions in rural areas, have greatly been hampered, after certain youth gangs of thugs riding new model motor bikes, hold sway on the roads and are looting and plundering the trucks carrying relief goods for the flood victims.
These uncontrolled gangsters on motorbikes are looting relief trucks on the ridiculous pretext that they too are victims of the devastating flood and deserve supply of relief goods, before it reaches the rest of the flood victims. Thus, hardly a dozen of motorbikers have so far looted several trucks and were now selling those goods to needy people sitting under scorching heat of the sun at inflated rates. These ruffians, mostly from the urban areas of the district, have formed their own gangs after developing an assumption that these trucks were carrying some imported goods sent by foreign countries which might fetch a good price in the open market.
Even, a military truck carrying relief goods and distributing aid came under attack from these violent bike riders in district Layyah. When the military men finding them in a sort of siege felt the situation might get out of control and these gangsters would loot supplies, they had to display their guns in the air. The military men were still managing these gangsters effectively thanks to their discipline on the one hand and guns on the other. The surprised military men were asking these gangsters on bikes as to why they were not selling their expensive bikes to buy goods if they too were the victims.
Hardly any truck carrying relief goods is spared by these gangsters who have got complete control of main roads of district leading to the rural areas. They are now acting of their own free will without any resistance from any law enforcement agency. These gangsters on assemble on the roads early in the morning and wait for a relief truck to arrive. As soon as a relief truck appears on the road, they start chasing it and force its driver and helpers to park it alongside the road. Then they loot everything and then disappear. They go to their homes and after stocking these looted goods they resurface on roads to repeat their performance.
