In Gillani's case, he was cited for contempt of court, which is a legal decision.
As far as Sharif's case is concerned, it has not reached the stage of legal decision yet. While its true that Sharif has morally bankrupted the entire institutional structure of Pakistan, it is also true that legally, he cannot be disqualified before a legal decision is issued.

PPP basically sacrificed a pawn in the form of Yousuf Gillani, and protected Zardari....similar to what PMLN is doing with Sharif right now. So no difference between the 2 crooked parties.

That also entireley depends on the judges and what cases they want to proceed with and what to sideline.

But then why the selective judgements? The state institions are in even worst conditions now by SC's own admission and observations. NAB,FIA, Police all are hell bent on to protect one family and when that one family is asked about the money, it says that its not answerable to SC. I fail to find the difference between the two?

Infact these 2 cases are remarkbly similar with only the intensions and speed of the judges deciding the outcome. Otherwise NS can be thrown out in a minute for lying in the parliament, leave aside the Panama papers

Not quite. In Gillanis case, the issue was solely regarding disobeying a court order. Court ordered the govt to write a letter to the swiss authorities, and the govt did not. The court gave them 2 or 3 chances, and finally, the court enforced contempt of court proceedings for disobeying court orders.

In Panamagate, the court is at this time, merely trying to determine whether to proceed with a case or commission, or discard it. You have to understand that the current court proceedings are on the viability of the case. The SC will not/cannot deliver a verdict in these proceedings.

You people are failing to understand this. It is putting pressure on the courts which can only help PTI. Do you not remember how PMLN used Javed Hashmi during 2014 dharna to say that Imran khan has judiciary in his pocket and wants judiciary to create interim setup. The same can be done here to help PTI. By Dr. Qadri and PPP constantly saying 'We don't expect anything from the courts' or 'the courts have always favoured Nawaz Sharif' it will put pressure on judiciary to go the other way to prove public sentiment of bias wrong.
