Only those channels should survive who have their own business plan & can run on private ads income.

3-4 is very less man. I hope 30-40 news channels close down. Pakistan only needs maximum 4-5 news channels plus 4-5 local news channels.

In the last 10 years, anyone who had a couple of free rooms in their home started their own news channel.

Big news channels like gnn, Dawn, 92, ARY, GEO, Dunya have powerful backings.Only small channels are in danger.

You should care.Because all these big channels are used by their powerful backers for political leverage.And, With all the small channel gone these big channels would be used to forward their owner's agenda.Like cnn, Fox news etc in us.So, Let's say if government is hurting their business interest they would use their channel to run propaganda against government.or, If sharifs zardari pay them they would do their bidding.

Yeah i should care, I should care that government dont pay them from peoples money, i should care that they should not be controlled by any organisation giving them good money (DW,VOA,BBC Urdu) are few example promoting that manzoor pashteen movement, last time they did was for mama qadeer and now he lives peacefully in Geneva.

Media is a tool to controlled peoples mind, government would be able to put check and balance on fewer media group with so many channels no one can, how many mainstream news channels USA, UK, China or Russia have?????
