Shaheed is also the word often used by the secular and liberals who are far far away from Islam on almost all aspects of Islam. Please prove me wrong . but I can give you hundreds of examples :)

a per islamic definition shaheed is a person who died fighting in cause of Allah for sharia of islam alone .like mujahideen are doing in Afghanistan as their fight is purely for establishment of Islamic khilafat their,not for anything else.even if a person dies for his country alone his death is not classified as shaheed as per clear hadeeth. only islam and sharia struggle and for it sacrificing your life is classified as shaheed.than among lower levels of shaheed a person sacrificing his life for defense of his family against a invader is also classified as shahheed but only if he was full practical muslim in his daily life,not otherwise ,and this shaheeds rank is much lower than a shahheed who died for Allah,s sharia cause alone. but in secular countries like pakistan the shaheed is anyone who died of too much alcohol drinking,diseases by fornication or who died in services of kufar ,against islam,like mister biolur of ANP and likes of him. heck here even a dancer or singer when dies is classified as shaheed .lol. come to think of it even hindus now call their dead soldiers shahheed.lol.what a distortion of this sacred word.but who cares,zaleel ko shaheed keh dainay say who shaheed to nahin ho jaata!
