Umma is divided.Majority of Muslim leaders are corrupt and only care about their money,perks and privileges.They are complicit in crimes against their own people fully in cahoot with the enemies of Islam.I blame all of them....except Turkey and Malaysia.So I am not surprised at the fate of Ummah at this critical juncture.However,I see a ray of hope and full faith in Almighty that things will turn around.Recent happenings in The Muslim world is also an eye opener.As they say " Man proposes but God disposes".Mussalman Museebat

Dear friends, ummah is in this state of affairs because it has accepted deformed islam at the expense of actual islam that is very clearly stated in the quran. The real islam is nizaam based not ritualism based. It has set goals not just a carry on randomly religion.
A short interpretation of Surah Al FATIHA
1) Declare, In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful,
2) That sovereignty belongs to Allah the creator and sustainer of the kingdoms of the universe,
3) Who is compassionate and beneficent,
4) The Provider of clear reference point for mankind to judge their actions by.
5) Therefore declare, only to Your system of rule we commit and thereby we shall seek your sustenance,
6) So guide us to the way of prosperity that is firmly founded,
7) The way of those whom you blessed with prosperity, of those whom you did not let suffer indignation because they went not astray.
This surah leaves us in no doubt as to who Allah is, what his set up of things is, why he has sent his revelation and what he want from us and why?
62/2 He it is who has raised amongst the people positioned centrally amongst the mankind a messenger from amongst themselves who declares to them divine goals for freeing them from all man made ills by way of teaching them the divine book with rules of understanding, for before this divine act people were in severe confusion about these things.
This is what the quran means as I understand it. It will be good idea to compare this with other translations of the message by others and see the difference.
The question is, did we bother look at the quran this way? If we did then did we act on it? See 62/5 otherwise. The verse about donkeys carrying books. The lesson is be practical ulema not lazy hufaaz eating halwa. One cannot fail to see that Allah wants people to educate themselves. Ignorant people who make no effort to learn are not looked at with favour by Allah if I understand the quran correctly.

Your question is not precise enough. The Ummah mentioned in Quran as "You are the best people raised for the good of mankind; you enjoin what is good and forbid evil and believe in Allah..." (3:111) or the Ummah, which splitting people because of their worldly desire?
Ummahs once split can never unite by worldly means. Entire history of religion is witnessed that once people split are always gradually united at the hand of the one sent by Allah. Mullah's efforts and their results are too obvious.

Dear Ehraz, the verse you quoted or any other verse in the quran does not make sense till we have proper understanding of surah al fatiha. This surah is called the opening or beginning because it provides us the context in which we must interpret the rest of the quran. This is where mullas and mufties have misled the ummah.
For example, take the very first verse of surah al fatiha ie bismilla. In this Allah commands the prophet and thereby a muslims to declare to the mankind that Allah is full of kindness. This is means Allah is some one loveable not hate-able nor some one to be feared. If we now look at all other translations a lot of verses of the quran has been misinterpreted by depicting Allah as something terrible. This is attributing falsehood to the quran which starts with declaration that Allah is kind.
The next verse uses word AL HAMDU from root HAA, MEEM, DAAL=sovereignty, glory, praise etc. Word praise is not suitable here because this is declaration of Allah for the mankind where Allah is describing himself by way of his attributes that are related to his abilities ie what he is capable of or what he does. Moreover he is free of looking for praises from creatures. Another mistranslation of the concept.
The next point is Allah is master and all creatures depend upon him for provision as we are told in verse 2. However, for somethings laws of cause are effect are put in place but for others people are given guidance as to how to use the provided stuff for maximum possible advantage. Here word YAWM=day, period of time, a reference point or frame of reference etc. This verses is generally misinterpreted as accountability by Allah. However, Allah has given his guidance ie the quran so that people abide by it without fail or consequence will not be peace but wars between people. In short this verses is about double consequences not just in hereafter but in this very world.
These misinterpretations are deliberate by mullas to try to gloss over the idea that rule only and only belongs to Allah. If they did not gloss over these quranic concepts then they could not provide kings and emperors any basis which they wanted so that they could use and abuse people at will. This is why I call them enemies of Allah. These little changes by mullas made a huge difference to islam and muslims.
This becomes clearer when we read surah two ie al baqarah. This surah also begins with bismillah ie tells us Allah is very compasionate. We are told, this is that book in which there is no doubt... One asks which book? The one we are told about in surah al-fatiha. A book for reference for actions. In it is guidance for those who want to be consistent... The question is consistent with what? With Allah on one hand, with the mankind on the other and with the world in which we live. In short we are instructed not to go against Allah's advice or humanity and universal divine set up.
In the next verses we are told, which people are those who are consistent or straight forward. Those who strive for peace between mankind in the land in the name of the unseen=Allah. They establish divine rule in such a way that they ensure that land and resource remain open for all mankind.
Here the quran in just two verses gives us terms for peace and war. If you take control of land and resources in such a way that you bar others from that then you are at war with Allah and the rest of mankind because he declared that what he created he did that for benefit of all his creatures and made mankind his authorized assistants to ensure tyhings work the way Allah has intended them.
Islam is not a belief system=religion or dogmas. Islam is a deen, a system of decision making ie a ruling system. If we now look at the world, all wars between people are over land and resources. When some people take over a piece of land and stop others from benefiting, the wars start. The quran told people not to do this 1400 years ago. Not only this but the quran claims to be copy of past divine scriptures. Therefore much of it says is nothing new ie Allah gave people his wisdom but did they learn and take advantage of it? Many did but many more did not.
Now you can see the context of the verse you brought in as to commanding what is of benefit for mankind and forbidding what is harmful for mankind. The quran does not define sin and virtue in religious sense but in sense of law and order as a part of state constitution of divine origin.
It is a saying that to hide a lie one has to lie 100 more times. This is what mullahs did. They diverted ummah from the quran by glossing over its concepts in order to provide legitmacy for kuar in the name of islam.

8) Among these people there are some who say, we work for peace on basis of guidance of Allah and on basis of consequences of actions but in actual fact they do not work for peace.
9) They try to mislead people regarding rule of Allah and those who truly strive for peace, however, in actual reality they deceive none but their own people yet they realise it not.
10) In their mindset is a wicked ambition to be masters of others so Allah lets their wicked desire increase and for them is grievous suffering because of that which they oppose.
11) When it is said to them, do not work for causing wars in the land, they say, surely, we are only trying to create peace.
12) Nay, they are creators of wars for sure but they realise it not.
13) When it is said to them give up wicked ambitions and desires for exploiting humanity and live in peace like other people who want to live in peace, they say, shall we live in peace like the foolish. Of course, it is they who are foolish not realising the benefits of this system because they do not want to know about it.
14)And when they meet those who strive for peace they tell them, we too work for peace but when they are in private with their fellow conspirators against peace, they tell them we are indeed with you. We were surely pretending to be with those who work for peace.
15)Allah will expose their deception and leave them wandering in their confusion like the ones blind.
16) These are those who have traded guidance for error so their business cannot be benevolent for them because they do not accept guidance of Allah.
17) The example of prophetic help for these people is like that of a man who lights up a fire for them to see but when it lighted up all around him, Allah let go their sight and let them remain still in the darkness because they cannot see.
18) They act like deaf, dumb and blind due to ignorance and arrogance so they do not turn to guidance.
19) Or is that of a rainstorm from the heaven with periods of darkness and thunder and lightning: They press their fingers in their ears due to thunderclap for fear of death. However, Allah is well familiar with the rejecters of his message.
20) The lightning almost snatches away their sight of them. As often as it flashes for them they walk due to it, but when it darkens for them they stand still. If Allah so desired, He could allow loss of their hearing and their sight. Indeed! Allah has set up laws of nature for all things.
21) O people, live by world order of your lord who has furnished you with ability of good conduct like those before you so that you could become free of harmful ways of existence.
22 ) Who brought about for you the earth as a starting point for your development and progress and made the universe the ultimate limit and sent down from the heaven water thereby He brought about fruits for your sustenance, so do not set up rival ruling systems against the one from Allah, and you do have the knowledge now.
23) Yet if you are in doubt as to the ruling system we have revealed to our messenger then bring a world order as good as this. Call upon your supporters as well whom you serve beside Allah if you are truly in doubt.
24) But if you cannot do this and surely you cannot then think about the fire of hate you are creating between people which is fueled by people through denying access to provisions to others, it is ignited by those who reject and oppose the revealed world order of Allah.
25) But deliver good news to those who strive to establish peace by way of reason and do what is right and good for others that for them await blissful kingdoms through which rivers flow. Every time they will be fed with fruits therefrom, they will say: this is what people like us were fed with before, for they are given things similar to those who were like them but passed before them; and they will have therein companions that are good for them; and they shall abide therein for as long as they live and maintain state of affairs.
26) Surely Allah does not bring to life nations by example of a nation that is dead, weak or mean but by an example of a nation that is far above that, so that those who strive for peace know for sure that it is the truth from their lord, yet as for those who ignore and oppose Our guidance say, what did Allah mean to convey by way of this like example? Thereby He lets many remain stray due to their mindset and thereby he guides many due to their attitude, however He lets stray thereby only such as have adverse mindset and destructive attitude to His world order.
27) Those who seek and conspire to move mankind away from the constitution of Allah after ratifying it, thereby seek discord in what Allah has commanded unity and they cause fights and wars in the earth. These are the ones who are in loss themselves and are cause of harm for others.
28) How can you reject and oppose life giving guidance of Allah, for you were a dead nation and he brought you to life thereby? Moreover, He will let you die then He will bring you back to life again thus you shall return to Him to answer for all that you are doing.
29)He it is who created for you all that is in the earth as well as attended to the cosmic space above and perfected them the seven heavenly bodies. And he has full knowledge of all things.
One can clearly see in surah al-baqarah same context as it is in surah al-fatiah.
After this we are told the first story in the quran ie story of Adam and his people as per 2/26.

This is islamic spiritualism ie carrying out orders of Allah for the good of mankind.
It is a divine plan for people to create paradise on earth by working together for the good of each other.
hope this explains a little bit what is really going on between ruling elite and mullas and masses. The quran exposed this game very clearly and that is why it has been glossed over by silly self invented hadith reports and interpretations.
So long as people keep reading the quran through invented ahadith and tafaseer, they will never get out of claws of ruling elite because mullas are not paid for nothing. This is islamic spiritualism ie carrying out orders of Allah for the good of mankind.
It is a divine plan for people to create paradise on earth by working together for the good of each other.
hope this explains a little bit what is really going on between ruling elite and mullas and masses. The quran exposed this game very clearly and that is why it has been glossed over by silly self invented hadith reports and interpretations.
So long as people keep reading the quran through invented ahadith and tafaseer, they will never get out of claws of ruling elite because mullas are not paid for nothing. Noah, Abraham, Moses and Jesus etc all suffered at hands of the priests who stood for their chiefs and kings. Each time a messenger came and reformed his people and left the message with his people, the dominant amongst them over threw divine rule and took on power for themselves and started imperialism again and again. The story of the last messenger is not any different. Today we opnly have the quran that can guide us and only if we start learning the quran ourselves and think seriously about it.

The non muslim must be killed during jihad and if they dont want fight then they have to pay jizya and must be under islamic law.
