Chaos starts taking toll on country`s economy

LAHORE: Minister of State and Privatisation Commission chairman Mohammad Zubair says the ongoing political turmoil has started taking its toll on the country`s economy.

`We may either miss or have to delay certain economic targets due to sit-ins,` said Mr Zubair at the Asian Leadership and HRM Summit `Pushing leadership and growth through strategy` at a hotel on The Mall on Thursday.

There was a lack of confidence among businessmen to invest in Pakistan and even domestic investors were preferring countries like Bangladesh. `The PML-N government restored their confidence and investments started coming. We had a success story till May (this year)but afterwards I am at loss to present Pakistan`s case to the international community,` said the minister.

Although protests and sit-ins was the democratic right of the opposition, he said the method adopted both by the PTI and PAT was not in favour of Pakistan.
He said that problems could be resolved through dialogues as agitation and fighting was not the ultimate solution.

`Everyone criticize situation in Pakistan but no one come up with any solution. The government is going through a critical time but the matter can only be settled through dialogue.

Moody`s turns Pakistan assessment as positive after Pakistan`s successful talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). It is a negative propaganda that the civil diso-bedience call has pushed away the IMF,` said the minister.

Admitting that there had been brain drain in Pakistan, he said still many best minds were working in the country. `In terms of human capital, Pakistan is blessed with finest resources. Pakistanis are considered the best and top quality professionals the world over. Every top position in Pakistan is being held by top brains having gotten outstanding education,` said the minister.

Other noted national and international speakers at the summit included Anjali Raina (Harvard Business School), Vinay Hebbar (Harvard Business Publishing), Prof Dr Sohail H. Naqvi (LUMS), Avinash Vashistha (Accenture India and NASSCOM), Ahsen Javed (ORACLE), Khuram Rahat (Teradata), Syed Tariq Husain (Emirates Investment Group UAE),Dr Tarita Shankar (Indira Group of Institute), Guenter Zwickl (Siemens), Irfan Siddiqui (Meezan Bank), Syed Mazhar Hussain (PTCL), Ishan Raina (Ignitee Digital), Irfan Wahab Khan (Telenor), Adnan Siddiqui (Growth Initiatives Leader, IBM Middle East, Africa and Turkey), Salim Ghauri (Netsol and P@SHA), Badar Khushnood (Google), Ayub Siddiqui (Sanofi), Adil Khattak (Attock Refinery), Shafique Ugaili (Allied Bank), Akram Durrani (Dawood Hercules), Sheraz Karim (SNL Financial), Waqar Khadim (Sefam), Farhad Karamally (Funverks Global and Navitus Sri Lanka), Dr Sitwat Hussain (Descon Engineering), Haroon Waheed (Fatima Group), Akkasha Sultan (ORACLE ASEAN), Max Babri (The Konsultants), Al-karim Hasan (AntiClock) and Shakeel Mapara (Sanofi).

Sadly this system has failed to deliver

Under this system a Party has expired all its options but cannot get justice because the rulers felt danger of self extinction if proper investigation was carried out and justice served.

The failure of the system or is it the party in power? has resulted in an impasse and Army will now be the sole arbitrator.
The failure/greed of the party in power has resulted in a situation where there is no fair dealing,Courts have failed to address the grievances of the aggrieved and National assembly is redundant.

This economy never worked for the masses so who cares if it goes down the drain. Deficit financing via loans will continue unabated; indirect taxation will keep on growing; the corporate vultures will pick the bones of the few remaining national assets; inflation will continue to rise; and the crooks will use the stock market as a cleaning house for their dirty money and men like Mr Zubair in their empty grey suits will trumpet their economic accomplishments via adverts to keep their media house buddies on their side. Welcome to Economics 101 in Shareef land.

Election was not rigged. It is well thought agenda to keep pressure on Nawaz Sharief. Nawaz always want to govern his way and don't like dictation from powers. Nawaz or Muslim League has nothing to do with 2013 Election. They were not in the government when election was held. By then there were Care Taker Prime Minister, All provinces had Care Taker Chief Ministers.

My Question to Imran Khan. If he think that election were rigged than he should file case against Mir Hazar Khan Khoso. He was a prime minister (Care Taker) by the time of election and leave Nawaz Sharief alone. But he is not doing that because his agenda is different.

This corrupt Mafia of NS and Zardari etc has to go. Not only are they corrupt but agents of Pakistan enemies. They all have to uprooted and thrown out, if we want to save Pakistan and progress. There is no other way. The enemies of Pakistan need to also understand that if this does not happens, a Khomeni type revolution will happen in Pakistan.

The crux of the problem is delayed verdict from the courts. Even if Nawaz Sharif is the crook Imran says he is, Imran can't go begging to Nawaz for his resignation. That is like asking the crook to admit he is a thief and return all that was stolen. You need a court order. Imran needs to start calling the judiciary out, rather than re-directing the blame on PMLN. But I think he is afraid of the judiciary.

The reality is that initially Karachi was made hostage by specially Punjab corrupt police, customs, income tax and other buteaucracy. Later, Pathan's transport, weapons, drugs, kidnapping for ransom and land grab mafia also got hold of Karachi. MQM tried to clean up city of all Mafias but they ganged up against MQM and with the support of their corrupt brothers in center and Sindhis in the Sindh govt against MQM. Sindhis, Balochis, Pathans and Punjabi Mafias; whether corrupt officials, criminals or Sindhi hate groups are all entrenched and refusing to give rights of Urdu Speaking whose city is Karachi. We have been made hostage in our homes. MQM has also now become abater of this Mafia. MQM corrupt leadership has become another exploiter now.We, as voter are obliged to support MQM as they atleast have some sincerity to us.

Courts are part of the problem not part of the solution Chaudhary under the guise of independence of Judiciary has stuffed them with the ill reputed. This is according to lawyers.A look at Khawaja Jawad and other SC judges statements and the decisions of LHC including stay orders to PMLn leaders at will and for indefinite periods are indicators of what is going on.

So Imran Khan should come out and clearly say exactly the words he says for Nawaz Sharif, "Geeder-e-azam", "Buzdil", "Bekaar" etc for the Judiciary as well. Why does he refrain from the Judiciary when clearly he has a big problem with them too. Is he afraid of the Law? :P
