It's sad to see some pathetic posts by some members based on racism towards other ethinicities or the provinces. Every province of Pakistan is making a contribution for the betterment of Pakistan in its own capacity which it possess. Specially khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and its people tried to do much more than their capacity, and still doing their best. We are proud, hard working, and honoured Pakistanis. I just want to mention few things as per my little knowledge which our province and our people are contributing for rest of our beloved country.
Economy
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's share of Pakistan's GDP has historically comprised 10.5%, although the province accounts for 11.9% of Pakistan's total population.
Main industries
KPK's 3 main industrial hubs Hattar, Peshawar & Gadoon and 10 small at Mardan, charsadda, kohat, bannu areas are playing a key role in Pakistan's economy.
Tarbela Dam is serving its power production to whole country with a power generation capacity of upto 4200 MW. Our ancestors also have sacrificed their beloved lands and graves of their forefathers for Pakistan. (90000+ people were displaced in this mega project)
Ghazi barotha is generating 1450 MW power.
Diamir basha dam is to be completed in few years which will also generate 4500MW.
& 15000 Short, long term jobs over the period are being generated for all Pakistanis in different fields.
Although Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's power consumption requirement is just around 2300 MW, which is even not fully provided by the federal govt.
Telephone Industries of Pakistan TIP is situated in haripur. Telephone sets used in our homes are made in TIP.
Tourism industry
Pakistan's tourism industry was in its heyday during the 1970s when the country received unprecedented amounts of foreign tourists.
It's unfortunate that now its facing a big decline in this business due to the most terrorism affected region in Pakistan.
Mining industry
Our beautiful province of beautiful Pakistan contributes 20% of Pakistan's mining output.
KPK accounts for at least 78% of the marble production in Pakistan.
Agriculture
Agriculture remains important and the main cash crops include wheat, maize, tobacco (in Swabi & Mardan), rice, sugar beets, as well as fruits are grown in the province.
Northern areas and Swat region are famous for the production of quality fruit.
Shinkiari's tea goes to all over Pakistan.
Mardan, Charsada region are famous for the Tobacco and sugarcane crops.
Khanpur's blood Orange is being exported abroad.
Gilgit Baltistan areas are the second largest supplier (after Quetta) of dry fruit to the country.

10 times squash world champion Jahangir Khan, Jansher Khan (also squash world champ), cricketers like shahid afridi, younis Khan, yasir Hameed, junaid Khan, Umar gul, shakeel Abbasi (Hockey Star), capt Mushtaq Ahmed (pakistan national volleybal team's ex captain)

Qateel Shifai, Ahmed Faraz, pitras bukhari are very well known personalities of this province who contributed in urdu literature.
Furthermore some well known actors like Firdos Jamal, Marina Khan, Khayam Sarhadi, Yusuf Khan aka Dilip Kumar, Feroz Khan and many more belonged to here.

KPK have a number of quality universities and medical colleges serving to the nation in different science and technology fields.
Only in Abbottabad there are four national level medical colleges. First ever women medical college in Pakistan's history is also in Abbottabad. Other wellknown schools like APS & Army Burnhall are the proud of this city. This city is also known as 'the city of schools'.
Pakistan Military Academy is also situated in Abbottabad.
GIK University Swabi, Peshawar University, Islamia College Peshawar, King Edwards College Peshawar, hazara University Mansehra, Comsats Abbottabad, Khyber Medical college etc are very wellknown institutes who have produced many brains to serve our beloved country.
