Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to establish counter-terrorism body

PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government will establish its own counter-terrorism and intelligence-collecting agency, media reported.

Over the next three years, KP will establish the Directorate of Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence, media reported August 12, citing KP police chief Ihsan Ghani, noting that officers and jawans (enlisted personnel) would be trained and equipped with modern technology.


The role of intelligence is large in eliminating crime and terrorism, he said, adding that its significance was the reason the government decided to establish the organisation.
