Waziristan is under military operation for the last 10 years. Pakistan army has been bombarding the area continuously resulting in indiscriminate damage. Thousands got killed and the rest forced to migrate from their home city. Government of Pakistan has done nothing to help the millions of displaced people. The misery of women and children trapped in the area without food and shelter is heart breaking.
No Journalists are allowed in this area. Strict media censorship is enforced by the military with no coverage of the humanitarian disaster the people of Waziristan are facing.
I conducted this interview of Obaid Ullah Mehsud a local resident of the area. This interview was conducted on January 17, 2015
despite strict military censorship on media coverage for the region. Four days after the interview , Obaid Ullah was abducted by Pakistani Military as reprisal for this interview and taken to
an unknown place. The Fate of Obaid Ullah - father to four kids is still unknown. Thousands like Obaid Ullah have disappeared and executed by the military of Pakistan for speaking out the ordeal
of Waziristan.
