Vision 2025 plans to bring down the remittance growth rate : -)

Pakistan has witnessed a tremendous growth in remittance during the last 5 years after the introduction of Pakistan Remittance Initiative in 2009. Since then the average yearly growth of remittance is above 15 percent per annum. The remittance received by Pakistan in 2013-2014 was 15.8 billion dollars. Vision 2025 claims to take it to take it to 40 billion dollars by 2025.

Now my question is that the remittance growth rate of Pakistan for the last 5 years is 16-17 percent. If it continues to grow at 16 percent per year then the remittance of Pakistan will be 80.8 billion dollars by 2025.

So in reality the vision 2025 aims to bring down the remittance growth rate from 16 to to 8.8 percent per year for which the projection is 40 billion dollars.

Can any one shed light on the government calculations.

Yar, it might be a conservative figure. Your calculations are based on a constant rate of 15 or 16 % by 2025. The actual rate might be low or higher than 15%.

BTW it is better to reduce the foreign remittances. Why our country should always be relying on merely remittances? Why not increase the exports?

And I don't believe these LIARS so whatever they say don't bother to listen even.

اس سلسلے میں یہ کارٹون ہماری یونیورسٹی بھی آیا تھا۔ کہا تھا کہ اسکی تقریر صرف 30 منٹس ہوگی لیکن تقریر ڈیڑہ گھنٹے سے زیادہ لمبی ہوگئی۔ ہمارے پروفیسر نے اس سے پوچھنے کی کوشش کی کہ اگر تم ایک آدھے گھنٹے کی تقریر سنھبال نہیں کر سکتے تو 2010 کا پروگرام کیسے سنھبالوں گے لیکن پروفیسر صاحب کو یہ سوال کرنے کی اجازت نہیں کی گئی۔ تو مجھے یہ اُسی زمانے سے جوکر لگتا ہے۔

Why is Govt. concerned with Remittance & highlighting it as their achievement. Yes it's a Plus, but economies does not build on Remittance, it's the export which is the main Issue. What has Govt. done in order to boost export. This should be the achievement.

Yes, but economies are able to survive despite Nooras due to remittances.

Bhai...if you look at the progress of a nation then, Remittances should be at the bottom of the list of achievement. If we as a nation has to prosper, we have to strengthen our institutions and industries.

Most of the Pakistani's are working in Middle East, but for how long. If you look at Middle East in 80's,90's then you would see that getting Jobs is getting tougher day by day. Let's hope for the best, Allah Kareem.
