UK Asylum claim hope for student shot in head in Pakistan

An Ahmadi who was shot in the head in Pakistan has arrived in the UK for treatment and will now claim asylum here in order to avoid returning to his home country.


Ummad Farooq, who was in the UK studying in Sunderland on a student visa, had gone home to Karachi for his brother Saad's wedding on the 19 October when the same brother was killed in the attack.


He came back to the UK with the bullet still lodged in his head and is now getting treatment at Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham - the hospital treating Taliban victim Malala Yousafzai.


Ummad Farooq says his family were targeted because his father is the president of the Ahmadiyya community in his locality.


Ahmadis are a sect whose views differ from Islam. They suffer persecution because of this and in 1974 the Pakistani government declared the sect non-Muslim..

1. This guy was shot about 2-3 weeks ago and even though bullet is in his face there is only a small mark and that he is sitting here talking about asylum? ..

2. If this guys story is correct then his father was shot 5 times but survived? Okay, maybe its possible?

3. How do you explain that this was a targeted Ahmadi killing? He happened to be Ahmadi but this kind of killings happen in Karachi every day and I doubt this was targeted against Ahmadis?

4. Lastly and most importantly, this video is posted by a user on youtube whose user name is "pornsextube1" and country of origin is India. He only joined youtube 2 days ago.
