TURKEY honors Pakistans national poet-philosopher Allama Muhammad Iqbal with Dost Award for Services to Islam.
Iqbals grandson, Walid Iqbal, received the award on behalf of the Iqbal family at a ceremony in Konya, Turkey. Turkish Minister for Culture and Tourism Nabi Avci presents the award as Pak Ambassador Sohail Mahmood looks on.

The ceremony in Konya was attended by Ambassador for Pakistan in Turkey, Sohail Mahmood, Turkish Culture Minister, Governor of Konya Region and Mayor of Konya among others, according to Radio Pakistan.
Through this award, we honour late Muhammad Iqbal for his contributions to the cause of Muslim political thought, which still inspires people in the entire world, the minister said addressing the gathering.
Being awarded in Rumis Konya is a great honour for Iqbals spirit, for his family, and for the people of Pakistan, Waleed Iqbal said in his acceptance speech.
