Sad state of tourism? according to Wikipedia...1 million tourists visited the country in 2011. Ofcourse a majority were those Ex Pakistani's for whom the country is a yearly vacation spot but so what? Many of them come to cling onto their lost Pakistaniyat...

The concept of tourism is to invite foreigners & get tourism dollars value per visit ! Not from our brothers or sisters called overseas Pakistanis & rip them off ? They are already homesick. Double the pain twice the fall.

The numbers you said are bull crap, are you serious? If 1 million tourist 3 to 4 cities will benefit. In a country large as India 450,000 tourist visit per year ! Are you telling me Pakistan over took India with established tourism? Pakistan gets 20,50 or 65 tourists from Europe not overseas Pakistanis!!! The fact for 1998 is 167 total as mentioned in video ! Yeah I saw the article in dawn yet there is not 1 solid mention in the article as to how or where these implementations are going to if at all in future take place!

Just another fact : # of Pakistani going abroad is 1000 to 1 ( vs coming in ) where the tourism industry lacks in development since nobody cares to develop the local infrastructure starting from having no 24/7 running electricity. If I was living there I would make hell to browse my internet or watch cable tv indtead of sit back & see corrupt officials do nothing about it!

After spending 1 million quid (pounds) during 1998 for "Pakistan posters" attracted mere 167 EU tourists to whole of Pakistan than for todays current problems - may allah bless the souls of tourism department in Pakistan.
