Olympics 2020: Istanbul, Madrid and Tokyo bid to be hosts but Tokyo wins.


The cities bidding to host the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics made their presentations and described why they should stage the Games.
Istanbul, Tokyo and Madrid were the contenders in a secret ballot.
Turkish city Istanbul was the first to reveal its presentation at a meeting of International Olympic Committee (IOC) members in Buenos Aires, Argentina. But at the end Tokyo wins the bid to host the 2020 Olympics.

Really wished Istanbul would've got the nod. They would've been great hosts.

It wasn't surprising though as Tokyo got the most votes in the 1st round and those who had voted for Tokyo won't have voted for Istanbul and some from Madrid might give vote to Tokyo so in that sense, they were favorites.
