So last year in january 5.46 HM3 were consumed and the bill was 12960 and this year its 28060 after consuming 4.67 HM3.

If 5.46 HM3 were consumed the bill would have been 32800. An increase of around 20000 from last year or say increase of 150 percent.

Nowhere in the world is the slab difference is so wide for flat rates.

From 264 to 780 and then 780 to 1460. I can understand if it was a step up tariff but thats flats rate.

For 14.04 MMBTU you pay 12812 including taxes but for 14.07 MMBTU you pay 24043.

Does this make sense to you?

I think Asad Umar explained that the prices have been increased by above 200% for high consumers. For the lowest slab, its only 10%.

One of our houseworker got a bill of 2500 where she used to get around 400 500 last year , its affecting everybody. Not only have they increased the tariff but also have increased the GCV which used to be 933 last year and now its 990. To understand how the GCV affect the bills , GCV is used to convert the HM3 (the units on meter) to MMBTU.

This is the formula

MMBTU = (GCV * HM3) / 281. 73

They are using every way to increase bills.

Brother, use a little common sense. Do you think he knows where this 50 billions worth of gas is being stolen? Is the whole amount being stolen at one place? And he is deliberately not catching the culprit? You know very well that is not the case. The whole nation has been at it for decades. It is going to take time and it is a continuous process. Never going to stop. Plus Pakistan used to produce enough Natural Gas for its needs. But now we are importing and that is obviously going to cost more. PMLN govt. has left the company in a loss of 151 billion Rs. That is huge. Gas companies were never in loss. So i guess they have to raise the price due to import as well as to cover the losses. The rich and wealthy have to pay if they use more resources and if they are not willing to do that then use sensibly and hopefully fall in a lower slab.
