The Worst Of Us !!!

A Hadith e Rasool SAAW in Sahih Bukhari Chapter of Qiyamah says that a time is coming upon people when they will laugh in the face of truth and bow their heads before lies, they will select the worst among them to represent them, their imaams would wait for dignitaries to start praying and they will be the worst of mankind.

And whether we agree or not we exactly portray the society that has been narrated in this hadith ... unfortunately.

Our media people are belligerently reciting references from four great Caliphs of Islam but what we, the people of Pakistan, are unable to understand despite all their rants that our leaders don't have any of the four great Caliphs as their role-model.

Personally I think Pakistani people are the most Islamic people in the whole Muslim World ... they have their lives vested in Islamic history and its teachings. But there is a segment of population among us who are still sold over clans, political sympathies and attachments ... no matter what. Some of us have degraded so much in our Islamic school of thought that we won't even hesitate to justify a traitorous and utterly disgusting remark from Islamic point of view just because we have political reasons. We would justify corruption, adultery, blasphemy and what not ...

Nations are only united when they are faced with a chaotic situation threatening their very existence. We are still victims of the inertia that lulls us asleep while our neighbor is being robbed and stripped. If a certain party's rule suits me ... it is fine for me regardless of what is happening to my neighbor in the same regime. I won't raise my voice over the atrocities committed to the man living next door as far as I am safe and reaping the reward of my political loyalty.

This thread is not a sermon, not a lecture ... this is just a reminder of what we all know already. Even if we don't confess it but we know it deep down. All of us know it ... the problem is : are we acting upon what we know is right ? Are we ready to sacrifice our today for the sake of our tomorrow ? If we don't find the courage in ourselves to counter what is happening to our neighbor ... can we do it for the sake of our families ... our own kins ? I don't think it would be fair for anyone of us to take responsibility of 170 million ... but we can assure a response for just 4,5,6 or as many we have in our own houses ... this is their future ... this is gonna be their lives. Are we prepared to leave behind a legacy of inertia, apathy, indifference for our generations to come ? Do we want that we should start a custom of protecting each other so that if we are not there in future somebody else will follow the custom and save our kins ?

I have heard all the leaders, Imran Khan, Nawaz Shariff, Zardari, BB, Zaid Hamid ...... nobody talks about reforming the society ... nobody talks about reminding us the lesson of love, affection, sympathy towards each other. Nobody tells us to behave with a passerby on the street ... nobody cares to point out our mistakes and friends : REMEMBER your truest friend is who tells you about your mistakes. Your true friend will never pester you ... never incite a fake pride in you, will never bolster up your ego and make you a schauvinist.

You will hear someone telling you your rights, someone telling you the glory of your past, someone telling you the uniqueness that you have ...

I have only found media so far strapping people over their sleep, over their misconduct.

And this is what is the motive of this thread :

I want us all to share all the misconducts, misbehaviors, rudeness that we have observed in our society, socially, politically, nationally, patriotically. And would love to see what solutions we can devise among us.

right bkaalon ..now just take example of Mirzai they follow a mad man call mirza ghulam and call him prophet . then his sons and grand sons .......and still call themself muslim ....why shouldnt we be in trouble..

second part of my reply relates to each one of us , well when we say that worst of us is chosen as our leader do we think all others are better than zardari , i mean look around you
a labourer works through out day , keeps on swearing at others, then at night buys sharab desi sharb , attends mujras, if possible call or visit a prostitute.

a person in office does the same but he will go for expensive sharab and bit high class call girl and he will drive a car financed by bank.

a teacher does not teach in school but private tution, he does not work on morality of students but his own pocket

a doctor spends more time in clinic than in hospital.......

look at character of us , look our media is also showng what we are , dancing competitons , kissing on national tv , girls with almost transparent clothes, .........

its easy to blame others but to look at our self....

i m not saying that zardari is good man no .........but we also are not good muslim .....i think worst is still to come

Very nice post, thanks.

We are just waiting for our politicians to mend their waves first and then we will think about ourselves, our society. We are just good enough to watch the political talk shows and criticize the politicians, write few threads or comments, enjoy few discussions over a cup of tea and then take our meal and go to sleep, without thinking about our own role and responsibilities.

We should focus on ourselves and bring positive changes and try reforming ourselves, as a start to bring changes around us, with our circle, in our home, in our office. We are the part of the problem and until and unless we realise our responsibility and work on ourselves and influence people within our circle, we will remain the part of the problem. And, towards the end of the day, we will not be asked about Zardari sb, but about our own ''raeyyat''.

your last sentence sent chills up my spine. It is very true ... the worst is still to come. And that is why we must stop the tide ...

The biggest thing that I find missing from our social scene is admonishing, advising our own kids ... when I read autobiographies of westerners they quote "my father used to say .... " "my mother used to say .... " "my granny used to say ... " and blurt out some pearls of pure wisdom. We are a society who have always banked more on this ... on quotes from our elders. In our earlier Islamic society ... people would find an elderly person and ask him "to advise" ... a word of advise was considered precious than money ... and not only that ... people would act upon it. Why have the affects gone out of our advices, our golden rules and pearls of wisdom ?

Respecting your thoughts and feelings and sharing the pain that you feel for the nation and ummah, my thought here is that there is always some positive in any scenario and that should be focused on and propogated for others to take heart from and feel positive, if only in the name of fairness. For Allah says to His Aposotle (and I am giving the mafhoom not exact translation) "You have been sent as a messenger to convey the message and do not take upon yourself the task of making people believe, for that is in Allah's hands." Take a lead from that and just do what you can do to play your part.
Wish you all the best and Allah's blessings.

This is really overwhelming to read your response, I am filled with gratitude. However, I do feel that all of us should spread the word ... because I know for sure that there is nothing new that people don't know nor we will be telling some new technique ... the point is to enliven all those lessons that people have left to be crusted in books only ... as Hadrat Iqbal RA said

sabaq phir parh sadaqat ka, sharafat ka, shuja'at ka
