The Source of the rumor about Altaf's arrest

Everyone is reporting from the London post site, which has broken the news with a question mark. I dont think it is correct news. So, please dont spread rumours and wait for the confirmation. I have checked British media I cannot find anything on this important news. Remember they all covered the murder of Dr. Farooq, if it was true, they would have reported by now.

I also hope with many others that it is a true news, but without confirmation, we should not speculate. We cannot wait for him to end behind bars, his rightful place, but we have to wait, I can promise you, if British have any scent on him, they wouldn't let him leave the country.

London: Altaf Hussain self exiled leader of MQM-A caught escaping to South Africa by the authorities. According to sources, Altaf Hussain was hiding in the Wrexham area close to Slough in Berkshire for the past few days. He was stopped when was going to Heathrow Airport in a private taxi. Interestingly the taxi driver was a Pakistani whom Mr Hussain thought as an English man due to his appearance.

According to sources Altaf Hussain told the authorities that, he is leaving UK and going to South Africa for security reasons and personal protection. According to sources he was told that, security can be provided to him in the UK. It is not yet clear if Mr Hussain detained or taken in protective custody. Mr Altaf Hussain is a British Citizen and living in self imposed exile since 1992. He is never been to Pakistan since 1992, not a registered voter now and never voted in any elections ever since.

Earlier yesterday it was reported that British police raided two addresses including an office of MQM-A in London in connection with the on going murder investigation of Dr Imran Farooq. It is reported that police took the crucial evidence in custody including the carpets for forensic investigation. According to reports 35 well trained officers of the Scotland Yard took part in the operation on Thursday 24th August 2011.
It is reported that those MQM-A terrorists arrested in Karachi were actually coming from Colombo Sri Lanka and had connections with the murder of Dr Imran Farooq. The arrests took place as result of tip off from British authorities.

According to reports both Khalid Shamim and another MQM-A terrorists who were arrested in Karachi while arriving from Colombo actually called in to be eliminated in Karachi by their own party MQM-A. They had crucial information related to Dr Imran Farooqs murder as well as target killing cells in various countries including South Africa. They knew too much about the MQM-A illegal and terrorist activities and needed to be eliminated that is why they were called in Karachi. They are lucky to be alive in the custody of Pakistani authorities than killed by their own death squad.

Now the noises made by the MQM about Pakistani authorities giving UK authorities information about MQM making sense. The killers gang of MQM found the wind is against them when the Pakistani Agency asked them to hand over Khalid Shamim to them.

They knew two killers are in the custody of Pakistani Agencies, with evidence of Khalid Shamim's involvement, and hence MQM direct involvement.

Therefore, they started to make noises before time to put pressure on PPP Government. But I am certain now, the days of Altaf Hussain and MQM are numbered. British wouldn't let them go, the murder is happened on British soil, therefore, MQM wouldn't be allowed to escape this time. We the British with Pakistani origins are watching closely.

What Imran Khan started few years back would be accomplished now, Inshallah. Many people taunted Imran Khan, but he has said many times, the British have not closed the case on his allegations, they requested information from Pakistan, but MQM was putting pressure on the PPP Government not to respond to British Requests for information.

But the situation is different, a murder is committed on British soil, now the wind will blow in different direction, and noose is well and truly on.

ISLAMABAD: Two men were arrested at Karachi airport a few days ago in connection with the killing of MQM leader Imran Farooq in London in September last year.

The suspects are said to be affiliated to a political party.

Officials privy to details told this correspondent that the arrested men had travelled to UK on student visa, stabbed Dr Farooq to death and then flown to Sri Lanka.

They were apprehended soon after they came out of the airport in Karachi after having travelled from Colombo.

It is learnt that they were arrested on a tip from British intelligence and other sources.

Their names have not been disclosed but the sources said that the president, prime minister and security establishment had been informed about the matter.

The sources said the arrests were made by personnel of the country`s elite intelligence agency with the help of photographs and videos provided by the British authorities.

The arrested persons have been kept in Karachi and investigation is in progress.

The accused had flown to London in August 2010 and the murder took place on September 16.

London`s Metropolitan Police and Scotland Yard had launched an investigation and arrested a suspect who was released later for lack of evidence.

Dr Farooq had co-founded the All Pakistan Mohajir Students Organisation (APMSO), the parent organisation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, with Altaf Hussain. He was deputy convener of the party, technically next to the MQM chief.

But he left the party in 2009 after developing differences over organisational matters.

The arrest of the suspected killers is considered to be a major breakthrough in the case.
