HELL AS MENTIONED IN WHAT REMAINS OF JEWISH AND CHRISTIAN HOLY BOOKS .
The Jewish actual practise of faith after Moses unlike Islam has a some what vague and complicated concept of Hell , but later on period they did had some compartmental type of concept . Words as sheol and Gehinnom are unclear and there are some wide array of reference to words like ones below which is assumed to refer to some aspect of Hell

- Azazel (עֲזָאזֵל, compd. of ez עֵז: "goat" + azal אָזַל: "to go away" — "goat of departure", "scapegoat"; "entire removal", "damnation")
- Dudael (דּוּדָאֵל — lit. "cauldron of God")
- Tehom (תְהוֹם — "abyss"; "sea", "deep ocean")[SUP][23][/SUP]
- Tophet (תֹּפֶת or תוֹפֶת, Topheth — "fire-place", "place of burning", "place to be spit upon"; "inferno")[SUP][24][/SUP][SUP][25][/SUP]
- Tzoah Rotachat (צוֹאָה רוֹתֵחַת, Tsoah Rothachath — "boiling excrement")[SUP][26][/SUP]

- Ikisat (አክይስት — "serpents", "drag
The modern christian Bible has concept of Hell more near ours but was it always so and scholars have compared words in Hebrew and Greek bible
Hebrew OT | Septuagint | Greek NT | times in NT | Vulgate | KJV | NIV |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
שְׁאוֹל (Sheol) [SUP][34][/SUP] | Ἅιδης (Haïdēs)[SUP][35][/SUP] | ᾌδης (Ádēs)[SUP][36][/SUP] | x10[SUP][37][/SUP] | infernus[SUP][38][/SUP] | Hell | Hades |
גֵיא בֶן־הִנֹּם (Ge Hinom)[SUP][39][/SUP] | Εννομ (Ennom)[SUP][40][/SUP] | γέεννα (géenna)[SUP][41][/SUP] | x11[SUP][42][/SUP] | infernus | Hell | Hell |

The Islamic belief in Heaven and hell are clearly mentioned at several places in the Holy Quran , such as quoted above , but strangely such clear cut description of this nature is fragmented in Jewish practise . I have for reason of brevity not explained in detail Christian concept of hell which has mention of fire and eternity .
