HELL AS MENTIONED IN WHAT REMAINS OF JEWISH AND CHRISTIAN HOLY BOOKS .

The Jewish actual practise of faith after Moses unlike Islam has a some what vague and complicated concept of Hell , but later on period they did had some compartmental type of concept . Words as sheol and Gehinnom are unclear and there are some wide array of reference to words like ones below which is assumed to refer to some aspect of Hell

  • Sheol (שְׁאוֹל — "underworld", "Hades"; "grave")
  • Abaddon (אֲבַדּוֹן — "doom", "perdition")
  • Be'er Shachat (בְּאֵר שַׁחַת, Be'er Shachath — "pit of corruption")
  • Tit ha-Yaven (טִיט הַיָוֵן — "clinging mud")
  • Sha'are Mavet (שַׁעֲרֵי מָוֶת, Sha'arei Maveth — "gates of death")
  • Tzalmavet (צַלמָוֶת, Tsalmaveth — "shadow of death")
  • Gehinnom (גֵיהִנוֹם, Gehinnom — "valley of Hinnom"; "Tartarus", "Purgatory")
Besides those mentioned above, in judiasm there also exist additional terms that have been often used to either refer to Hell in general or to some region of the underworld:

  • Azazel (עֲזָאזֵל, compd. of ez עֵז: "goat" + azal אָזַל: "to go away" — "goat of departure", "scapegoat"; "entire removal", "damnation")
  • Dudael (דּוּדָאֵל — lit. "cauldron of God")
  • Tehom (תְהוֹם — "abyss"; "sea", "deep ocean")[SUP][23][/SUP]
  • Tophet (תֹּפֶת or תוֹפֶת, Topheth — "fire-place", "place of burning", "place to be spit upon"; "inferno")[SUP][24][/SUP][SUP][25][/SUP]
  • Tzoah Rotachat (צוֹאָה רוֹתֵחַת, Tsoah Rothachath — "boiling excrement")[SUP][26][/SUP]
  • Mashchit (מַשְׁחִית, Mashchith — "destruction", "ruin")
  • Dumah (דוּמָה — "silence")
  • Neshiyyah (נְשִׁיָּה — "oblivion", "Limbo")
  • Bor Shaon (בּוֹר שָׁאוֹן — "cistern of sound")
  • Eretz Tachtit (אֶרֶץ תַּחְתִּית, Erets Tachtith — "lowest earth").[SUP][27][/SUP][SUP][28][/SUP]
  • Haguel (Eth.: ሀጉለ — "(place of) destruction", "loss", "waste")[SUP][29][/SUP]
  • Ikisat (አክይስት — "serpents", "drag

The modern christian Bible has concept of Hell more near ours but was it always so and scholars have compared words in Hebrew and Greek bible

The Islamic belief in Heaven and hell are clearly mentioned at several places in the Holy Quran , such as quoted above , but strangely such clear cut description of this nature is fragmented in Jewish practise . I have for reason of brevity not explained in detail Christian concept of hell which has mention of fire and eternity .

OK , the main point here is that though Islam , Christianity and Judiasm have same root but in currently available version of "Holy Books" of especially Judaism the concept of Hell , the life in hell is not clear . A good subject to go through and search .
