LAHORE (Dunya News) - Jamaat Islami chief Sirajul Haq on Wednesday called for an indiscriminate operation against all parties over corruption and said that the political parties should eliminate corrupt people from their ranks.
Talking to an event titled “Yaum-e-Urdu” or Urdu Day at Mansoora, Lahore, Sirajul Haq heavily criticized ongoing aggression by India on areas bordering Pakistan. He said that Indian aggression is the result of Pakistan’s ‘apologetic attitude’.
Jamaat chief said that a countrywide ‘national movement’ against corruption is the need of the hour, adding that corrupt officials belonging to all provinces should be subjected to the operation regardless of party affiliation.
Talking about Pakistan’s national language Urdu, he said Urdu has become an estranged language, adding that the ‘honourable’ nations feel proud of their language, culture and traditions.
He said if Pakistan has to progress internationally then Urdu has to be imposed as official language.
