ISLAMABAD: In a virtual snub to separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani's stand that Pakistan should not talk to India on matters like trade till the Kashmir issue is resolved, senior PoK politician Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry on Thursday said things should "start moving and rolling".

Chaudhry, the former "Prime Minister" of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, said he had conveyed his position to Geelani during a recent meeting in Srinagar.

"Geelani has his views and wants (J&K) to join Pakistan... I told him that status quo does not suit us. Things should start moving and rolling," he said.

Chaudhry said he had stated his position after Geelani reiterated his stance that Pakistan should hold talks with India on issues like boosting trade only after the resolution of the Kashmir issue. Chaudhry, who was addressing a news conference on his return from his first visit to India, was impressed with what he saw in J&K.

"The truth is there has been more development on that side. It is very beautiful and I visited a golf course and a trout fishing farm...I have seen those things and we should take steps to implement similar measures here," he said.

Kashmir and Kashmiris are better off without Pakistan and India. They have suffered and have been used and abused enough by BOTH sides.

If you think India is bad, you dont know how bad Pakistan has been towards pro-independence Kashmiris (UNHCR report on Pak abuses in AJK)

I support the independence of Jammu & Kashmir from both India and Pakistan

If Kashmiris have been abused by Pakistanis according to you, I wonder why they keep loving Pakistani flag everyday?

That is because the APHC and Jihadi groups get all the attention by our "concerned authorities"

but pro-independence groups like the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) never get a damn mention despite being one of the oldest and largest political groups in whole of Kashmir.

Why? Because they want complete independence and dont want to be a part of India, or become some colony of Pakistan (that's what they say) and as a result Indian and Pakistani authorities put them in jail, censor them in media, and treat them like fodder.

But like I said, read the UNHCR report I linked on my original post on what our boys in Islamabad do in AJK
