Tafheem-ul-Quran – A complete Qur’an with Urdu translations & tafseer by Moulana Syed Abul Ala Moududi. It took him 30 years from 1942 – 1972 to complete this great mission. Maududi’s translation and commentary on the Qur’an, “Tafheem-ul-Quran” in easy to understand Urdu, ranks as one of the best such works in existence today. Unlike many early translators, Maududi uses the standard technique of providing an explanation of the Qur’anic verses from the Sunnah of the Prophet (sas), including the historical reasons behind the verses.

Tafheem-ul-Quran is also available for the first time in MP3 / audio / CDs. Introduction to each surah (voice of Radio Pakistan’s famous broadcaster, Azeem Sarwar) follows the Arabic recitation (Sh. aududi’s ‘Brilliance’: Let us examine some brilliance of Maududi through his famous Six Volume Tafseer, Tafhimul Quran (Urdu), by Idara Tarjumanul Quran, Lahore, November, 1982. We will turn to his other writings from time to time, with due reference given.
The Captive Women: 1:340 means Vol 1 Pg 340. The summary and conclusion of his discussion on war captives, Vol 1 Pg 340: Even today, the government must distribute the women war captives among Muslim soldiers and the soldiers should “use” them. This rule will apply to women regardless of whether they belong to the People of the Book, or any other religion. How would the Mullahs feel if Muslims, getting thrashed all around the world today, had their women treated by the ‘infidels’ in this abominable fashion?
The Quran, verse 47:4 states that the captives of war must be freed either for ransom (e.g. exchange of POWs) or as an act of kindness as soon as the battle ends. There is no third option. When an eminent scholar differed with him and showed how the Quran has closed the door of slavery forever, Maududi responded, “The error of this man lies in that he relies on the Quran to form his opinion.” (Tafhimat 2:292)

سورۃ محمد کی آیت نمبر چار میں جنگ کے دوران پکڑے جانے والے قیدیوں کے بارے میں حکم ہے کہ اُن کو جنگ کے بعد انسانی ہمدردی کی بنا پر آزاد کر دیا جائے یافدیہ دے کر چھوڑ دو۔تیسری کوئی صورت ممکن نہیں۔

مودودی صاحب نے قرآن کا احکام کے بر خلاف تیسری صورت پیش کی۔ فرماتے ہیں کہ حکومت وقت جنگ کے دوران قیدی بنائی گئی عورتوں کو فوجیوں میں بانٹ سکتی ہے اور وہ فوجی اُس کے ساتھ تمتع کر سکتا ہے۔ عورت چاہے اہل کتاب ہو یا نہ ہو اُس کا کوئی بھی مذہب ہو اُس سے اولاد بھی جائز ہو گی۔

یہ کیا جواب ہے جناب؟ ایک ملا قانون بنائے اور دوسرا اُس کی تصدیق کر دے اور بن گیا اسلامی قانون۔ آپ نے شائد میری پوسٹ پڑھنا گوارا نہیں کیا۔ قرآن کی آیات پوسٹ کیں تھیں حوالے کے طور پر اور آپ نے ایک اور ملا کی تقریر پوسٹ کر دی جواب میں۔ کیا آپ کے مذہب میں قرآن کی آیات کو ایک ملا کی تقریر جھٹلا دیتی ہےَ؟ کوئی قرآن سے دلیل دیں۔ ڈاکٹر اسرار نے تو ایک آیت کابھی حوالہ نہیں دیا اور آپ اُسے قرآن کے مقابلے میں پوسٹ کر رہے ہیں۔ روز قیامت کیا کہیں گے اللہ تعالیٰ سے؟
