Swat varsity teachers demand bribes for passing thesis

MINGORA: A student of University of Swat has alleged some of his professors demand bribes in exchange for approving and passing their theses.

A student of the varsity, Fazal Wahid Fahim, told The Express Tribuneon Thursday that he had completed his masters degree in business management in 2014, after submitting his thesis to his supervisor, Abdul Mateen. However, another professor, Dr Faisal, instructed me to do some changes in my thesis, which I did, Fahim added. But later, he cancelled my thesis and told me to meet a person called Amjad to settle the matter, by paying him money.

Amjad is a resident of Charbagh tehsil and acts as a middle-man, collecting money from students, and in return getting their theses approved, Fahim said. Amjad made a call to Faisal, and after a brief discussion with him over the phone, he demanded Rs20,000 for approving my thesis.
