Stupidity: Election Commission of Pakistan

Just to illustrate the point of stupidity in forcing ordinary Pakistan to find out where they have to go to caste a vote. Here are the steps and the reason I call this stupid.

Then visit https://www.ecp.gov.pk/frmGenericPage.aspx?PageId=3155

Choose Punjab, it takes you to Google Drive, Select Lahore

Choose District Lahore

Now look at this. Assuming you know what you National or Provincial Assembly Number is which I doubt most ordinary vote casters know. Download the file and see next.

Each NA file has around 50-70 odd pages which look like this. Look at "Block Code" below

Is it sorted in Ascending or Descending Order.

For me I think it should be as simple as sending SMS and knowing where to go. From so called Democrats, Army and Bureaucrats. This is face of how much improvement has happened in our election process. PLEASE HELP US share this with your friends FB/Twitter etc., otherwise this process will not get any better. Forget electronic voting machines or bio-metric.

It appears that the NADRA database is not linked with the Election commission database. The phone SIM is registered to a CNIC in NADRA, if this database was linked with Election Commission database, it would return the voter details also.

I do not know if it has been kept like this deliberately.

1st.
The DB's are connected otherwise such massive NA lists can't be generated by hand. Let's not make technical excuses to cover ECP INCOMPETENCE.

2nd.
The SMS doesn't mention anything about Mobile SIM. They just need your National ID #.

What is this nonsense, how the f one can find details from 50 scanned photocopy pages.

Should have been a searchable database, even better to link with sms service and in the same sms give details of the polling station.

If you are outside Pakistan use Skype. This is a never ending mental sickness. Now you know the reason why people don't vote. Because they don't know where to go, so there is no culture of voting in elections.

Fixing the problem is the issue not how we got her, how we should solve it.
