Hey guys this does not mean we start calling army to come into power like Musharf, zia, yaya, ayaub khan etc etc. they need to do their staff quitly as a profesional army. they need to stay behend from politics. though no army in the world completly away from politics but it must not be soo much into it to grab power. I hope ti will never happen agian in Pakistan. they are our hero and they must be defenders of Pakistan. inshallah

Just a question I want to ask mostly for academic reasons mostly.
Why is it viewed to be wrong/bad/not good for the country or people if the Army is in power?

Because Army is an institution that is supposed to serve and protect the civilians of a country. Army is not elected by the people so if they are too powerful this power will go unchecked. We all know power corrupts and classic example is Musharraf. When he was in power back in 1999 you could sense his loyalty to Pakistan , but later on because he was not democratically elected we couldn't get rid of him after 2004. He did everything he could to stay in power. But if a democratic government ( if it functions correctly, unlike in Pakistan) tries to abuse power it loses the civilian trust and during the next elections better representatives are chosen by the people. Did that make sense or was I too vague ?

First you have to realize that PPP and PML N are elected by the people of Pakistan. If we hadn't had military rule from 1999- 2008 these goons wouldn't have been ruling this country. During musharrafs time, the only party that came up was PML Q which we all know is as corrupt if not more than PPP and PML N. Since democracy has started , we have seen PTI gaining popularity amongst the masses and then you have sheikh rahseed forming his own party. So yeah political parties are springing up but you need time to cleanse all the filth. I am willing to bet on it that if we have military rule again, and once the "general" is dethroned people will elect PPP and PML N again.

The most important thing right now, before the next elections is to have an independent election commission in Pakistan. Once we do, you will see how knowledgeable people of Pakistan really are.

To answer it the way Ex-President Pervez Musharraf put it, every time the military takes control of any area of Pakistan, the civilian departments of the Govt responsible for utilities and services (education, trade, whatever) get a double benefit. One, they get lazy and stop doing their job, blaming everything on the military and secondly, after the military leves in 2,3,4,5 years, they have forgotten their jobs.

Sad case of affairs

What do you think the people can do if the democratic government is hell bent on destroying the institutions and absolutely corrupt like the present government, what can you do to keep it from doing harm?

How could you sense his loyalty to Pakistan when he broke his oath and constitution of Pakistan and lead a mutiny to topple the elected government? Can you mention any legitimate reason for his action? He must be tried for high treason.
