Just a thought that wouldn't be a good purchase if PAF go for Russian KA-52 Attack helicopters instead of American AH Z1 Viper's, as they are doubled the price and also very expensive to maintain.

On the other hand KA-52's are beautiful to look at and match the Apache AH-64's in performance....!!

I'm a huge admirer of the AH-64 series though but I doubt we'll get our hands on them any time soon.

YES ka-52 are better.
But more expensive.
Russians want cash.
American Viper is free in a way as USA owe us coallition support fund money and they will deduct it there from.

Ka-52 can carry more load
Viper has higher flying speed.

The reports were Pakistan army was interested in Mi28 NE dual control and then suddenly the US announced the order for AH-1Z Super Cobra which had fallen silent. US does not Want Pakistan to purchase Russian arms and Russia has changed its policy on arms sale which is got the money? then buy it. So a report came out Pakistan was interested in SU-35 as the endian lobby tried blocking the sale and the sale got pushed by the Pentagon and no senator who the endians thought were in their pockets opposed the sale apart from 2 or three after passing the bill of sale.

I am glad that our defense procurement is playing the Russia card if the US does not hold to its promise for the sale of hardware then we should start negotiating with Russia then lobby or no lobby we will have the motion for the sale happening quicker.

1st of all PAF don't operate AH Z1 Viper's, PA does.

2nd, whenever acquiring a new platform, the defense planner always look for (5 things) initial cost, operation cost, Performance, maintenance cost and availability of spares.

3rd, IMHO, Mi-28NE might be a better choice compare to KA-52's. In the long run, I hope Pakistan can get some kind of ToT from Turkey for T129 ATAK or Chinese Z-10.

4th, Since Russian has offered Mi-28NE, I think we can try in small numbers for testing purpose.

It's a guessing game, I'm not sure what PA is planning but looking at the current situation, 9 AH Z1 Viper's are on order (Not sure of the delivery date), older AH-1 Cobras will have to be replaced with a New Platform, Mi-28NE might be a good option for PA.

Mi-28NE and CAIC Z-10 are a good combination

IMHO Pakistan need 150 Helicopters in next 3 to 5 years.

*Pakistani Army need 80 advance attack Helicopters.
*Pakistani Marines need advance 25 attack helicopters.
*Pakistani Anti Narcotics Force need 10 attack helicopters.
*Pakistani Navy need 25 anti-ship helicopters.
*Pakistani Coast Guard need 5-10 search and rescue helicopters.

mamoo russian helis are way behind in terms of technology and engine life!
US products and their R&D is next to none!
but right we need more helis from anywhere!

Well we are interested in MI28NE helicopter which is similar to Ka50-52 in term of performance. In my opinion Mi 28 suits us more coz it has lots of similarity with our existing Mi17 helos. We are also buying buying Mi35. Its much easier to maintain and easier for logistic point of view.

Not sure why we are buying three different helicopters but in my opinion, Mi35 will be used by SSG as they can carry troops as well. Most probably Ah-1Z would be used for around coastal area as it is specially design for marines. Chinese WH-10 would be our main anti armour helo, it can be use against TTP and to protect CPEC corridor.

There is corruption in every level of government and in Army. Those who say that there is no corruption in Army are wrong. Army is not free from corruption, if you compare the corruption of Civil government to Army, It's like comparing 100 million to 50 billion. at-least there is a check and balance in Army, there is no mechanism to stop the corruption by ruling party.
