Should Mr. Kayani issue an apology? (Asghar Khan case)

Here is my thought pattern.

Army has ruled us direct for 3 decades. There have been accusations that within the so called democratic periods, it has been interfering.

After the Asghar Khan case, it is now established that have also enforced their chosen people upon us even in a period of time that was neither followed by nor preceding a martial law and was supposedly the time when we, the people, had the right to choose.

There is enough doubt for us to believe that they have done this on a lot more occasions including perhaps this current one. But only one ex-Chief Aslam Beg confessed and hence we have this decision.

While on the one hand, we have the likes of PMLN and IJI parties that are now totally exposed and have no moral high grounds, there are others like PPP that are yet to be exposed although it has already been established that the NRO was negotiated by them with another ex-Chief Mussharaf though actual monies might not have been exchanged which is slightly easier to prove.

So while we await some good that never will come out of the shamed parties and politicians like Nawaz ( them being inherently bay-sharam of course), the fact of the matter is that Army has ruled us directly for 3 decades and indirectly for a lot more while we were given the lollipops of freedom of choice and democracy.

Given that the Army says it has no political ambitions and no political cell for 5 years and that they have enough problems of their own and the fact that it has been directed to act against its identified culprits by the SC, I think it is about time that the Army be the first to come clean. We are also ready to believe, or not question, that whatever they did was in the interest of the nation as per their estimate.

We, the people(effectively the slaves of Army, as proven) are waiting for an absolution and perhaps much closer to a revolution than ever in the past. We are looking and waiting for our institutions that we build and fund to actually start working for us.

We also believe that the Judiciary is perhaps free now but the real freedom lies when the most powerful institution that robbed us of our right to choose ( at the very very very least, in the 90 election) actually display the moral high ground it claims to follow and let Mr Kayani come out and make a public apology on behalf of Army for at the least, its role in the 90 election saga.

anyone agrees?

I think if they hang GEN Aslam Baig for high treason under Article 6 would set a good precedent for any GEN high ambitions. Alas it is only wishful thinking "JIS KI LATHI USS KI BHAINSS" though a brilliant move by CJ i am impressed with one stroke he rattled everybody in game

That was an act of few individuals, no reason for Kiyani to apologize for it but I must say Aslam Baig and other patriots should be applauded for safe guarding our nuclear programme.
