Jo Shareef is ko banwa reha hei us nay to mere khaya mein PHD ki hei Public Transport System pe,Hassan Nisar ka to mujh ko nahi pata Mager both Nawaz Sharif & Shahbaz Sharif Chor hein and Pakistanio ke Mujram hein .

Have you seen any Rapid " Closed" lane for buses in any of the UK cities ?
He has highlighted the details in some other columns. He wrote that if there are 50 bus stops then how the hell this is going to be rapid?
What about roads connected with the system?
Suppose, i am leaving from Johar town and my final destination is Wapda House. How the hell on earth this one rapid road is going to solve my problems?

Lahore Rapid Mass Transit (LRMT) System is a project envisioned to provide mass transit facilities to Lahore. The project was expected to be completed in 2020. In the first phase, two light rail lines was planned to be constructed. The first Green Line between Shahdra and Hamza Town (Ferozpur Road) cost $2.4 billion. The second Orange Line between Pakistan Mint and Sabzazar costs US $1.9 billion and was planned to be completed by 2015. In the second phase, Blue and Purple lines were planned to be constructed.
The rapid mass transit project is shelved and replaced with rapid bus transit (RBT). Bus only corridor for Lahore RBT is under construction in the mid of Ferozupur Road [SUP][4][/SUP]. First phase, from Kalma Chowk to Gajju Matta, is expected to complete by end of May 2012.

Rapid urbanisation and a sharp increase in motorisation have resulted in serious traffic congestion in Lahore. Professor Vuchic Vukhan in his book Transportation for Livable Citiesargues that congestion is a consequence of inappropriate policies and inadequate planning that failed to consider the long-term relationship that exists between a city and its transport network. Therefore, the solution to congestion problems demands a holistic approach to urban planning, beyond any single transport project.
The percentage of total trips made by private vehicles has doubled from 24 per cent in 1991 to 46 per cent in 2007.
On the other hand, the percentage of total trips made by public transport vehicles in Lahore have either remained constant or are declining, instead of mirroring the increase in population. This indicates that people do not find the available means of public transport an attractive way to travel. Therefore, in the presence of poor quality public transport, people belonging to the middle income group use either motorcycles or cars

Crossings in between has been closed and after constructing roads
they suddenly remember underpasses to baney hi nai cross karney kay liya :lol:
No they are building 1 at model town, 1 at kalma chow and ichra (only model town one is where u can cross with vehicle rest of ppl on foot

There is no answer. How this rapid rapid road is going to help If some one is coming from GT Road ( Baghban Pura, Salamat Pura, Jaloo moor )
Our Media and channels are keeping mum on this project. They have not initiated any discussion. This is totally mind boggling project initiated by a civil dictator.

Brother if you do something for the benefit of public considering the money of public as your own then approach and results are different
but when your whole aim is to get public votes without consideration and setting priorities then your approach and results are different
i have strong reservations over N leagues intention
in past they have done so many things just to get public support and vote, they use public money relentlessly
therefore results were devastating

Good Observation. I really can't comment since i could not visit Lahore for the last 5 years. " Notte vekha mera mode baney" media is not discussing the loopholes of this project.
