he was very patriotic and he was not corrupt at all, watch on the front with kamran Shahid of today. we need a general like him.
yes financially he may not be corrupt but morally he was corrupt of all
used teen age kids in afghanistan inspite of using trained army

Brother, unfortunately in Islamic countries any prominent Islamic patriotic leadership will not be tolerated by US, Israel and West ? They also will not tolerate any MHATIA MOHD. The other reason, we have imposed pro-western bureaucrats and landlords feudal stooges. In India and Bangladesh these kind of people have been removed somehow ? ..........................................................................................We need disguised group of military leadership like president Zia "Shaheed" and Company for better future, Inshallah.

The writer is more than biased.The writer is leaned towards Bhuto and seems to be affected
by the order of RAMADHAN.I think the writer had been punished by Zial ul haq for not keeping ROZA.
I have more sympathy with this writer he hs been hurt severly

یہ جنرل ضیاء الحق مردود کی تصویر ہے جب وہ اردن میں تعینات تھا 1967 سے 1970
تک۔اس دور کی خاصی اہمیت ہے پاکستان کے لیے، اردن کے لیے اور فلسطینیوں کے لیئے۔

کیونکہ جب اردن نے 1970 میں اسرائیل مخالف فلسطینی فدائیان کو ملک سے نکالنے کا فیصلہ

On September 15, King Hussein declared martial law and appointed Field Marshal Habis al Majali as a commander in chief of the armed forces. The head of Pakistani training mission to Jordan, BrigadierMuhammad Zia-ul-Haq (later Chief of Army Staff and President of Pakistan), played a key role in planning the offensives.[SUP][18][/SUP] The next day, Jordanian tanks (the 60th Armored Brigade of the Jordanian Army) attacked the headquarters of Palestinian organizations inAmman; the army also attacked camps in Irbid, Salt, Sweileh, Baq'aa, Wehdat and Zarqa. However, the Jordanians could not devote all their attention to the Palestinians. The 3rd Armoured Division of the Iraqi Army had remained in Jordan after the 1967 war. The Iraqi regime sympathised with the Palestinians, and it was unclear whether the division would intervene on the part of the Palestinians. Thus the 99th Brigade of the Jordanian 3rd Armoured Division had to be retained to watch the Iraqi division. Furthermore, the 40th Armored Brigade, 2nd infantry division, and other supporting units positioned in northern Jordan could not devote all their efforts to the PLO due to concerns of Syrian invasion.[SUP][19][/SUP] Finally, the tremendous political and economical pressure on Jordan by Arabic leaders who sympathized with the PLO contributed to limited success of this first offensive. Nevertheless, Jordan army was able to regain control of key cities and intersections in the country before accepting the ceasefire agreement brokered byEgypt's Nasser on the 27th of September.[SUP][20][/SUP] By late November, Jordanians had regrouped and ready to resume their campaign to expel the PLO out of the country. The king appointed Brig. Gen. Zid bin Shaker in charge of the operation. Under his command, the Jordanian conducted a systemic and meticulous campaign against the PLO. First, the army regained control of all major cities with PLO presence. Second, the army forced the PLO into the mountains of Ajloun andJarash. Finally, the army besieged the PLO in the mountains and between fighting and surrenders the PLO were expelled completely out of the country.[SUP][21][/SUP]
Arafat later claimed that the Jordanian army killed between 10,000 and 25,000 Palestinians, although more conservative estimates put the number between 1000 and 2000.[SUP][22][/SUP][SUP][23][/SUP]
Hostage David Raab described the initial military actions in Black September this way:
"We were in the middle of the shelling since Ashrafiyeh was among the Jordanian Army's primary targets. Electricity was cut off, and again we had little food or water. Friday afternoon, we heard the metal tracks of a tank clanking on the pavement. We were quickly herded into one room, and the guerrillas threw open the doors to make the building appear abandoned so it wouldn't attract fire. Suddenly, the shelling stopped."The armored troops were inefficient in narrow city streets and thus the Jordanian army conducted house to house sweeps for Palestinian fighters and got immersed in heavy urban warfare with the Palestinian fighters.
Amman experienced the heaviest fighting in the Black September uprising. Syrian tanks rolled across the Yarmouk River into northern Jordan and began shelling Amman and other northern urban areas. Outdated missiles fired by the PLO struck Amman for more than a week. Jordanian infantry pushed the Palestinian Fedayeen out of Amman after weeks of bitter fighting.

مگر اب تو ضیاء صاحب کو دنیا سے رخصت ہویے ٢٥ سال گزر چکے ، اگر مشرف کا ١٠ سال کا عرصہ نکال دیا جایے تو بھی ١٥ سال بنتے ہیں ، آخر ہم نے اس ١٥ سالہ نام نہاد جمہوری دور میں کون سے تیر مار لیے ؟؟؟
جو لوگ ضیاء صاحب کو سب برائیوں کی وجہ بتاتے ہیں وہ اس برائی کو آرمی چیف بنانے والے کا نام بھی بتا دیں ؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟ جو لوگ افغانوں کی وجہ سے چرس /اسلحہ لانے کا ذکر کرتے ہیں ، وہ بینظیر صاحب اور نصرالله بابر صاحب کا یہ بیان بھی یاد کر لیں " طالبان ہمارے بچے ہیں "

Both Bhutto and Zia ul Haq wronged Pakistan in their own way. Bhutto, by pitting different social classes against each other in foul spirit, with no other motive but to perpetuate his personal rule. Zia ul Haq tarnished the image of Islam world wide and opened a pandora's box of sectarianism and extremism in Pakistan, which we are suffering continuously without any hope of being remedied.
