The Birmingham hospital where 14-year-old Pakistan schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai is being treated has set up a fund for charitable donations for her.
Malala arrived at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) on Monday after being shot by a Taliban gunman.
She had a bullet removed from her skull last week.
A spokesperson from the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust said more than 600 people had sent messages of support for Malala.
The teenager was targeted after campaigning for education for girls.
Malala remains in a stable condition and is responding well to her care, a QE spokesperson said.
An account within the main hospital fund of the Queen Elizabeth Birmingham Charity has been set up to support Malala.
The trust's website said: "When she is well enough we will ask her how she wants those donations to be spent in support of the care she is receiving."
A message book has been opened at Birmingham City Council and people visiting the trust's website can also leave an online message.
A vigil for Malala is due to be held by two organisations, Women2Gether and Amina Women's Group, outside Birmingham Council House in Victoria Square from 11:00 BST on Thursday.

Honestly I can feel for her but no desire to be part of this growing conspiracy. My brothers in Pakistan just don't know what's going around them and what's causing defame. For centuries they fed their people saying that Islam oppress women and I think that's a classical opportunity for them to encash. So was it bad happened to her? Answer is yes! Should we glorify her and make her a symbol against ourself? At least I don't and I will never have this desire.

we have a family in our village who circulated a news about their son who was same age as of malala that he has friends from Jinns who can cure diseases. So in short daily there would be long queue of patients outside their house nd they would charge them for the treatment nd strangely some of them got well. Then one of the scholars from next village challenged this family's claim about Jinns etc nd exposed them nd their lie. But then nothing happened to them they robbed people more than 10 lacs nd nobody claimed their money. The kid was used there as a mean to fool people nd they succeeded.

Your argument is very illogical just like comparing apples with oranges. The incidents like one you quoting are the result of deprivation, injustice, illiteracy and poverty . Malala stands against them supporting children's right for education and enlightenment.

This is the classical time for us to correct our selves and announce that we believe in "LA IK'RAAHA FIDDEENA" as per Quran and we don't support or appreciate killings in the name of islam....

If your religion n rules allow you to plot bad happenings against own innocent daughters then obviously against yourself she is now a symbol of TIME OVER. You may keep silent.

Supporting the truth requires courage only not desire "POHLAY BAADSHAH....!".
