See the most awkward text exchange ever between boy aged 9 and his new girlfriend

This cringeworthy smartphone conversation has a lot more in common with many adult relationships than we'd probably care to admit

Mobile love: One young lad has learned some relationship rules fast thanks to his girlfriend. File photoTroubles with the opposite sex usually characterise the teenage years.

But one nine-year-old boy has learned early that there can be awkwardness to relationship matters.

This text exchange, between "Damion " and his 'new girlfriend', brings a child's clarity to a mature situation.

And it might strike more of a chord with adult couples than you'd think.

The exchange was shared by Vine star Freddy Amazin , who is based in San Diego, California.

The girl, who is unidentified, asks "So r we together?", to which he responds: "I don't know do you want to be together?"

"Only if u want to," she responds, but soon comes the hard-to-get reply from Damion: "I don't care it's your choice."

Starting to sense a stalemate, the girl texts: "But I wanna know do you like me that you'll be my bf... ??? [sic]"

First love: The conversation starts as a bit of a cat-and-mouse discussion on the relationship statusDamion responds positively, but his girlfriend has her doubts, texting: "So r we together and I don't want u saying idc [I don't care] bc then Imma think you don't want to [sic]."

He shows his hand with his next message: "Yes because you want to be and I do to [sic]."

But she soon ups the ante, asking: "Do u love me??...???????'

Second step: The girl ups the ante with the 'love' question early on in the relationshipWhen he answers yes, there are more pressing issues to address, and she asks him: "Wyd [what are you doing]", which he mistakes for 'why', answering "because".

She says: "It means what are you doing?" and he sensibly states: "I'm just in my room texting you."

He then decides to take the plunge with a romantic gesture: "You want ice cream for tomorrow cuz imma try and bring a dollar or two so I can buy something."

Romantic gesture: Damion offers ice cream in the hope of securing the dealShe approves, but it gets more embarrassing when he adds: "I'm about to work out and almost got the six pack."

Perhaps losing interest, she attempts to sign off with: "OK love u," and he adds, "love you too."

She responds: "I love u more babe," and his competitive side comes out, with "No cuz I love you more than the galaxy," adding: "And I love you more than the universe."

Winning text: The declarations get grander because Damion wants to be the bestImpressed, she says: "'Well that is really big so u must love me," she replies, and he immediately shows his game with: "'Yup and I won."

The awkward exchange was posted by Freddy on Twitter on November 9 captioned "My nine-year-old brother and his girl are goals tbh".

This is all part of Qiammat. It will go so far that boys and girls will not need any girl friend or boy friend, they will find all in family. Then the moment will come when everybody has to answere what they did.

Today parents promote giving their child those flirt machines.

I wish I had those Flirt Machines when I was 9.
