A "MOST IMMEDIATE" letter of the Federal Ministry of Interior (National Crisis Management Cell) dated June 12, 2012 numbered No.3/28/2012-(OPS)-1387 written to Home Secretary Punjab reads:
Subject: Provision of security to Malik Riaz Hussain, Please find enclosed herewith a copy of the letter dated 11 June 2012 received from Behria Town (Pvt) Ltd on the above subject. 2- Competent authority has desired that Police/Rangers security may be provided as per need and request of Malik Riaz Hussain, ex-chairman M/s Behria Town (Pvt) Ltd under intimation of the ministry, please.

In a letter Malik Riaz Hussain had asked the Interior Ministry that he was receiving life threats over his phone and had been facing a suo moto case no 5 of 2012 in Supreme Court in which Dr Arslan Iftikhar is an accused.
The letter further said that as Malik Riaz has to appear before the Supreme Court so security be provided to him, after his arrival in the country.
It is important to mention that when Dr Arslan Iftikhar requested Supreme Court that he was facing threats, the apex court, on suggestion of the attorney general, directed the Interior Ministry to provide necessary security to Dr Arslan.
