The special cell of NAB, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, established for recovery of outstanding dues from electricity defaulters, has so far recovered over Rs171 million from Pesco and Tesco defaulters.
The cell comprises NAB, Pesco and Tesco officials.According to a statement issued here on Monday, over Rs152 million were recovered from 805 commercial/industrial consumers of Pesco whereas over Rs19 million recovered from 76 defaulters of Tesco.
The recoveries also included dues not paid for over six years.The NAB’s special cell had issued notices to 2,817 defaulters of the power companies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Fata.
The statement said efforts were underway to ensure full recovery of the dues from the commercial and industrial units as they have already been informed to voluntarily deposit the amount or face action, including arrest.
