RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has released Rs 290 million for the construction of 14 link roads and renovation of government offices and accommodations in district Rawalpindi.
These funds have been released to the city district government of Rawalpindi under the Punjab City Governance Improvement Project (PCGIP), said a source.
According to the source, Rs 80 million would be spent on the construction of 14 link roads, Rs 21.5 million on the construction and renovation of social welfare centers (SWCs) including Aafiat, Darul Aman, Kashana, Sanat-e-Zar, Women Crisis Centre (WCC), working women hostel, Gahwara, Negahban, offices of the Social Welfare Department, Excise and Taxation Department, Education Department and other departments. Work on these projects will soon be started, the source added.
