Rimsha case: Witnesses who testified against Khalid Jadoon backtrack

Three witnesses who had testified against prayer leader Khalid Jadoon for leveling blasphemy allegations against Christian girl Rimsha Masih backtracked from their statements, saying that the police forced them to do it, Express Newsreported Monday.


The witnesses, including the mosques muezzin Hafiz Zubair and Hafiz Awais and Khurram Shahzad, who endorsed Zubairs statement, submitted a sworn statement before a District and Sessions court in Islamabad.

In the statement, the witnesses maintained that the police had tortured them and made them give statement against Jadoon.

Police officials investigating the blasphemy case against Rimsha had earlier submitted an interim charge-sheet declaring cleric Khalid Jadoon Chishti guilty before the trial court.

The cleric was accused of adding pages from the Quran to ashes seized from 14-year-old Rimsha to implicate her and was sent to jail on a 14-day judicial remand by the judicial magistrate hearing the case on September 2, 2012.

Where you have seen Mullans and Talibans words written in it. Making fake and retard suggestions.

Truth is Truth. It will be revealed in courts which are ment for this. Now avoid mixing things up.

Blashphemy is not acceptable in any form.

For example as you both will not allow a third person to insult your MOTHERs in open BAZAR, will this insult/abuse to your Mother is acceptable by you or not.

If not same is here in Blashphemy, we Muslims cannot cannot bare any kind of insult/abuse towards our Beloved Prophet Mohammad pbuh even in .00001% area. As we love alhumdoLIllah more then our Parents.

Now backoff as this matter of Blashpemy is not related only to Taliban and Mullah Muslims it belongs to all the Muslim Ummah throughout the world.

If you are not from Muslim religion then better dont interfear in Muslims affairs and if you are a Muslim then try to understand the realities.

@Islam4globe Blashphemy Law has become a joke. Now who are you to tell other's to back off. Are you telling others they don't have Love for Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) and only those people who support Blashphemy law have. We all know very well that People are misusing this Blashphemy law and there have been cases reported in news media several times that people due to personal enmity have used this Law against each other. Love for Prophet (PBUH) is one thing but open your eyes and see for yourself how we as a nation have twisted laws to our benefit.

I do not support any Law which people use to settle their enmities against each other by framing them in Balshpemy law. If we do not have checks/balances in the law then it is bound to produce mistakes and I do not want to associate myself with the law which instead bring respect to Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) brings naozobillah bad name to it in the world. Our Prophet (PBUH) is above this. We are very corrupt/brutal people exception of the few. May Allah help and guide us, because we will see Allah's wrath to our nation...if we keep killing the innocent and framing them falsely.

اب جیسا کہ عدالت نے رمشا کو تو بری کر دیا۔ تو اگر اس نے توہین نہیں کی تو مولوی نے بہتان باندھا، تو بہتان کی سزا بھی وہی ہونی چاہیے جو رمشا کو دی جانے کی کوشش کی جا رہی تھی یعنی سزائے موت۔ دیکھیں یا تو رمشا قصور وار تھی یا اسکے الزام دہندہ۔ مولوی خالد جدون بھی یا تو قرآن جلانے کا قصوروار ہے یا اسکے الزام دینے والے۔ یعنی اسکے الزام لگانے والا مولوی بھی اسی مسجد میں نائب امام ہے، تو مولوی خالد کے بری ہونے کی صورت میں اس نائب امام کو قرآن جلانے کا بہتان باندھنے کی سزا ہونی چاہیے۔ یہ معاملہ ایسا ہے کہ اس میں چپ نہیں سادھی جا سکتی۔ اب جا تو خالد جدون کو لٹکاؤ یا اس نائب امام مسجد کو ۔ ہمیں ان دونوں صورتوں میں بہت خوشی ہو گی۔ ان لوگوں نے قرآن قرآن، توہین توہین، جلاؤ گھراؤ کو ایک کھیل سمجھ رکھا ہے، جب دل چاہا کسی پر الزام لگا کر اسکی زندگی حرام کر دو۔ حتکہ اگر وہ آدمی عدالت سے بھی بری ہو جائے تو جہادی گنڈے قتل کر دیتے ہیں۔

اگر آپ کی یہ بات مان بھی لی جائے کہ یہ دو ویڈیوز سچ بیان کر رہی ہیں، تب بھی تضاد موجود ہے۔

اس ویڈیو میں کہا جا رہا ہے کہ حافظ صاحب کی امام مسجد سے ذاتی دشمنی تھی اس لیے انہوں نے رمشا کے حق میں گواہی دی۔

مگر آج یہ دعوی کیا جا رہا ہے کہ حافظ صاحب نے پولیس کے دباؤ میں آ کر یہ غلط گواہی دی تھی۔

آپ اس تضاد کو کیسے دور کریں گے؟

کیا ایسا ممکن نہیں کہ حافظ صاحب پر دباؤ پولیس کا نہیں بلکہ آج مولوی حضرات کا ہو جس کی بنیاد پر وہ بیان بدل کر آج جھوٹ بول رہے ہیں؟

چلیں مان لیا کہ ایک شخص (مؤذن مسجد) کی امام مسجد سے ذاتی دشمنی تھی اور اس بنیاد پر اس نے جھوٹی گواہی دی۔

مگر ادھر مسئلہ یہ ہے کہ ایک نہیں، بلکہ تین گواہیاں امام مسجد کے خلاف موجود ہیں۔

ISLAMABAD: Two out of three witnesses who had testified against Khalid Jadoon, a prayer leader who had been accused of adding two pages of the Holy Quran in the burnt pages to strengthen the blasphemy case against Rimsha Masih, on Monday withdrew their testimonies, DawnNews reported.




Earlier testimonies of Khurram Shahzad and Hafiz Owais

On Sept 3, Shahzad and Owais recorded their separate statements under CrPC 161 (examination of witness by police), with investigating officer sub-inspector Munir Hussain Jaffery, stating that they saw Jadoon putting some pages of the Holy Quran in a plastic bag, after tearing them.

The sources in the police close to the investigation had told Dawn that the case’s complainant Malik Hammad, who was also a neighbour of the girl, brought a polythene shopper to the mosque carrying ashes and some burnt papers and handed it to them.

Shahzad was offering prayers, while Owais was in Itekaf (meditative seclusion) , but later Hammad took the shopper from them and handed it over to Jadoon who later tore some pages from the Holy Quran and put them in the shopper.

They objected to the act but Jadoon replied: “You are just kids and you do not know how to strengthen a case.”
Later they brought the matter in the knowledge of Hafiz Zubair who also raised an objection over the act, but it was ignored.

Hafiz Zubair’s testimony

Earlier on Sept 1, Zubair, who had claimed being an eye-witness in the case, had in his statement said that he was sitting in Aitekaf (meditation) during the month of Ramazan in the mosque — situated in front of Rimsha’s house.

Zubair had alleged that when Hammad brought the burnt pages of the Holy Quran before Jadoon, the cleric included two pages of the holy verses in the evidence to strengthen the case against the minor girl.

Zubair had said he had tried to stop Jadoon and insisted that the original evidence should be produced against Rimsha before the police.

The witnesses had stated that Jadoon ignored his advice and said that it would make the case stronger and that would lead to the eviction of the Christian girl’s family from the area.
