Reason why Flooding in Pakistan

The Punjab government has gifted the post of secretary energy to a person who has been held responsible by a judicial commission for loss of lives of hundreds of people and of property worth tens of billions of rupees when he was head of Punjab Irrigation and Power Department during last year floods.

Punjab is a land of five river coming from across the border. It is hard to blame government when half of India is under water and now same water is going through Pakistan.

actually flooding shows lack of proper long term planning. this water could have been stored for irrigation or even for drinking if there were more barrages, reservoir lakes and dams available. since nawaz mafia that has been ruling punjab for 3 decades is only concerned with commissions and expanding their empire they do not have time for long term projects. all this fresh rain water has gone to waste when a city like faisalabad doesnt have clean drinking water!!!

I agree with you, the need of the hour is to build new dams of river channel to store water at designated locations to use for future use.
