The intelligence failures you have mentioned of other countries does not condone Pakistan Intelligence Agencies to repeat failures. This is no premise that if others have failed ,so what is the harm if we have failed! The question is about accountability? When will this national pride, our armed forces learn to be accountable to this poor tax payer? The bashing against the army or the premier intelligence agency ISI is an unpatriotic and vindictive act and must be crushed mercilessly. BUT do we have leaders in our proud armed forces with a spine to stand tall and offer themselves accountable? A proud general MUST RESIGN! The common man is dismayed, he is hurt, his pride in its valiant armed forces has been humbled. If a few heads were rolled, was this too much sacrifice we are asking to restore our confidence in our valiant sons? I still believe in Yeh Putar Hatan Tay Nahin Vikday Let our top military leaders set this example and rise to the occasion. Let the blood of our sons not be wasted in justifying the existence of the top brass of our armed forces.

Muhtarim, It is very easy to sit out of Pakistan and critisize. We need to show optimism and confidence in the institutions that have good credibility and potential. I know we also need to encourage the good, honest politicians and weed out the bad eggs, same goes for every department but we have to be specific. Aik lathee say sab ko naheen hanka jaata.

Oh! What a field day our National Press is having at the expense of the Pakistan Army; right from the two bit reporters who have yet to be weaned off their mothers milk to the salty cynics who for years have been groveling up to the Army High Command and the Intelligence agencies and in their heart resenting it all the time. They now think their hour has come. It reminds me of a scene from a 1966 film called The Trap starring Oliver Reed as a trapper and Rita Tushingham as the mute girl he marries and takes back to the wilderness of British Colombia. The movie is a dramatic tale of a struggle for survival and the scene that comes to mind is set in a cold snow covered forest where Oliver Reed is attacked by a cougar and then badly injured, he fights off a pack of wolves as he struggles to get back to his log cabin.

Like Oliver Reed in the opening stages of the movie the Pakistan Army stood tall and confident, capable of giving as good if not better than it got till it was ambushed by an American feline, the cougar and now suddenly smelling blood, the wolves are out of their sheeps clothing and the fangs are showing; nay not just showing but snapping and biting at the heels of the Army.

Wolves are social predators that usually attack a larger animal as a pack. Lacking the individual strength to kill like the tiger or the leopard, each member of the pack that is able, will bite and hold or tear flesh to wound the larger animal causing massive blood loss to bring it down. The Press is biting and tearing, with journalists gifted with more acid in their speech than others in the pack, attempting to tear off larger pieces. To run from an attack by wolves is to reduce the chances of survival but if the prey stands its ground, the wolves either ignore it, or try to intimidate it into running.
But the prey is not a lone bull or a moose out on the cold Tundra. Its a body of nearly half a million soldiers commanded by over twenty five thousand officers whose parts are held together by values and traditions that reach back over a hundred and fifty years. It is well trained, disciplined, organized and aggressive. Like Oliver Reed who battled his way home, it has inner strengths and reserves of energy that no outsider can appreciate. Unlike the armies of the past which were conditioned only to attack, the Pakistan Army like all modern armies is also trained to defend; a psychologically more difficult operation that frays the nerves and requires patience and guts but the aim of which is to ultimately wrest the initiative.
In the perception of the Pakistani Press the Army is at bay but it is refusing to panic and run. Time is short since new stories will emerge and the Press will be under a self imposed pressure to turn their attention to a new prey. So it is resorting to a well known Chinese form of disgrace; Death by a Thousand Cuts.

Known as Lingchi, its purpose was not to execute or to torture and the primary goal wasnt prolonging the agony. Often the victim was drugged with opium; typically the executioner administered the coup-de-grace, a stab to the heart, soon after starting his work. Instead, the point was to make an example of the victim. Its said the Chinese had a special horror of death by dismemberment, since it meant youd show up mutilated in the afterlife. What the press is attempting to do is to humiliate and disgrace the Army. With what purpose?

Brother why dont you ask the Military instead of press . . . .

What is the purpose of military for still licking the American Boots after so much humiliation during the last two months . . . . With what Purpose ?

Why with every second day they are trapping their own selves in yet another scandel . . . . With What Purpose ?

Why they still avoiding an inquiry to punish the culprits . . . With what Purpose ?

Why they are still sticked to their seats and culprits not resigning . . . With what Purpose ?

And why after so much humiliation their necks are still so stiff . . . With What Purpose ?
