1. These idiots don't seem to know the difference between Mass graves and Unmarked graves.

2. The Chief Minister of J&K spoke on this issue, and he said that in villages it is common practice to bury people in unmarked graves.

kashmir issue is not only about mass graves. there is enough evidence even without this. and the bodies have bullet holes in them. its better for us as indians that we accept what has happened, order proper enquiries and speedy justice. and for that to happen such a defensve attitude on your or my part will not help. we have to be mad as hell about this and demand that the GOI does a proper investigation.

also the fat slob in the middle made a wrong assertion that fai is framed, when fai himself has plead guilty.

hi,
My comment is only regarding graves. You are right though, about what the govt. should do.

I agree there are some human right violations by establishment. But there are also some human right violations by terrorists. I have never seen so many displacements by majority (Kashmiri Hindus) in their own land. Is it not that we are more secular and amenable to a solution? Now the Govt. probe will prove human right violations of establishment. who will prove the violations of other side? I also agree two wrongs cannot make one right. What is the solution? If we say Army did wrong and Kashmir's who used to ask " Are you from India?" then, are we prepared to let go Kashmir? Is religion a cause for divide? If yes, then instead of asking for independence they should relocate like what happened in 1947 Time will tell whether they were Kashmiris or Mohajirs?

do you really think kashmir will be allowed to go away from india? we are the 3rd or 4th biggest military power in the world, and US is our no.1 ally. who will help the kashmiris get independence from india? geo-politics doesn't work that way. today a country can form only if at-least USA supports their formation like in kosovo or south sudan etc. otherwise its almost impossible.

secondly the choices don't have to be so stark. kashmiris will come by if you start prosecuting crimes like its a law order situation. remove AFSPA, Disturbed Area Act, prosecute all the rapes and murders committed by the state, and i can assure you the population will come around. typically the correct thing to do is very logical, but then politics comes in between. as soon as you remove AFSPA and try to reduce army presence, the army contractors who have great contracts running now for decades (most contractors are usually themselves ex-army top brass) will lose a money making business. so they will lobby hard with the army to continue stay there. though CATCH-22 is a black comedy, you can read it to understand why armies (of all countries) never wanna stop fighting a war. Why doesn't US get out of Afghanistan? you think haliburton and bechtel etc are not making terrific profits out of it? how to stop it? politicians will never listen to their conscience and do it. the population needs to get politically active and threten them to get it done.

the only way forward for good thinking people is to counter pressure the government, so that inspite of army's unwillingness the government is forced to do the right thing.

im a kashmiri & i know the role of people like shal, fai & tarambo.... all kashmiries in this program except mir waiz r islamabad's pay-roller.... they r not there to stand for kashmiries but for the interest of pakistan... nobody knows them on the land u call kashmir... especially tramboo, he always used JKLF's name to protect its master's interest & his so called kashmir center.... JKLF is the largest kashmiri party.... demanding complete independence for Jammu Kashmir... we KASHMIRIES want the betterment of both countries although they r occupiers on our land... there will be absolute peace & prosperity in the region if both countries India & pakistan quit their forces from kashmir & give us the thing we r demanding AZADI...... the smooth settlement would be in interest of people of both countries & thats only possible if the civil society of both countries come forward & support the noble cause of AZADI FOR KASHMIR... we r on the case & we'll make it because no lie can live forever
