ISLAMABAD: As Imran Khan stunned all and sundry Saturday night by announcing his marriage plan, very few people know that it was Maulana Tariq Jamil who advised him a month ago to get married and to abandon the use of word tsunami since it has negative connotations. It was on this advice that Tsunami March was re-named as Azadi March. It is another story that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadris associates claim that the term Azadi March was coined by their leader but was stolen by PTI.
Imran was also advised to perform Hajj, preferably in the company of the Maulana who performs Hajj every year. A party official close to PTI chief confirmed Maulana Tariq Jamils advice but claimed Imran was already thinking on these lines. Earlier this year it was reported that he was under immense pressure from his family members to get married in the near future. His sisters in particular, the report said, are insisting on his marriage to avoid personal vilification,
Although the report was denied quoting the family sources, Imran confirmed its authenticity inhid Saturdays speech wherein he explained the reason behind his urgency in making a Naya Pakistan. Among others, the reason why I want to make Naya Pakistan is to get married, he said to the amazement of the crowd and the leaders accompanying him Sheikh Rasheed.
Among other things counseling from Maulana Tariq Jamil is the main reason behind Imrans announcement. He is said to have spoken in detail with Imran advising him to go for marriage, as doing so will keep him away from negative activities.
Since Maulana was also critical of Imrans usage of term tsunami he advised him to refrain from it. He quoted some Hadiths to establish his point. He said the Prophet (PBUH) was very particular about the names of different things. One day, the Prophet (PBUH) diverted his route to avoid passing through two mountains whose names had negative connotations. Imran was convinced and he stopped using term Tsunami.
