PPP's unique method of pre-election rigging needs to be countered with Runoff polls reform
PPP has well orchestrated pre-poll rigging in the form of 'benazir Income support program' funds being given as bribe to selected illiterate women in rural constituencies just enough to achieve electoral victory in the constituency. To begin with, the very concept of doling out government money to selected individuals is immoral. It makes the receivers become mental beggars and they loose their self esteem and resultantly fall into the PPP's lap and we have to bear the consequences. Secondly, naming it after a person (Benazir) is absolutely foul as it is not her money in any way. The very name of the program is corrupt and immoral. Elections are here.
If allowed to be conducted in the usual manner under the present rules, PPP will surprisingly bag unusually large number of seats on the basis of BISP, despite the national disapproval of it. The only way to check this foul play from happening is to implement runoff election reform in the coming elections as suggested by the supreme court ruling. In a runoff election the final round would be between the BISP recipients and non recipients, the later being in larger numbers would beat the PPP at their own dirty game. Pakistan direly needs this, please!
